Brad Hodge is retired from test cricket after so many years of being snubbed from the selectors - real shame. Excellent captaincy by Ponting today but we haven't batted yet. England had to bat first with Swann in their team so no real surprise there. Hussey and North are also victorians. It was Siddle's day - great effort and great start to the summer. The game plan seems in full swing: 1. Dismantle Strauss right from the start - tick! 2. Get crowd on side - tick! 3. Dismantle England/Sth African batting line up - tick!

Hasn't been a great summer for us - so glad we're playing England and will have a few easy wins :)

Billabong Bar will have it as well I imagine. I don't get in till 18 December but look forward to catching up and watching a few overs with a beer or two.

I've stayed at Secrets my first time and would recommend it. Walking up the stairs is no big deal. Secrets is quite a good package, the rooms are smallish but clean, shower/toilet good. Food is available 24 hrs, bar and girls downstairs all good and the staff terrific. Add to that it is a great location for Walking Street and Beach Road.

Pattaya Beer Garden is pretty good for me and Coffee World at the Avenue is another place.

My dtac phone comes up as vodaphone as well in Australia, I thought that was pretty weird as well.

Stayed at Secrets, Pattaya Bay Resort and LK Metropole. Secrets was good for a walking street location and PBR was good for a LK Metro location and their pool. Would recommend both.

lol wish I'd known who that was !!!!! The girl I was with said it was good to be in a bar where the girls treated her normally and she could relax. I kept her for a few days and did see that at some places she felt really uncomfortable.

No, I brought a few girls in and never had an issue. I even had a few drinks with one in the bar for an hour or so and all the girls in Secrets treated her really well (which was a relief as I was a bit nervous about doing that but wanted a few more drinks). Staff at both, are in my opinion great and really helpful and friendly.

Generally when on holidays I like to drink beers and shots only once the sun goes down and I've had something to eat (not counting a few drinks with dinner). So for me a normal day on holidays would be start drinking around 8.30ish and finish anywhere from 2am to 4am. Too old to do this every night though so some nights have to be a 10.30 start.

Both are girl friendly with really good staff. Secrets is an all in one with it's own bar, girls, food etc. Do try and get out though as it is easy to spend a lot of time just in Secrets :) Really good setup and location for around WS and great to stagger back to. PBR is also girl friendly but I have heard from others that they can sometimes ask for a joiner fee if you bring back more than one girl. Friend of mine brought back 2 and he had no problems though so probably best to check with them. PBR has good rooms, nice food and pool.

Mix it up an do both and spend some time at Secrets and some at PBR. Secrets gives you a home base close to WS and the Beer Garder and Beach Road with a lot of experienced travellers in the bar to chat to and PBR gives you a home base around LK Metro and areas around there. Secrets is close to FLB as well. If you are staying a fair while might be worthwhile staying for a while around the other end of town as well to have a look around and have some fun. I have stayed at PBR and Secrets and would recommend both.
