  1. I've only done 4 border runs. The larger vans used for them are far more spacious with each passenger having their own seat-what we call in the States a Captains Chair.Of course they recline also, have curtains and video if you are so inclined.I was not aware there were vans to the border similar to the van described in this thread.
  2. How much is the " or the optional broadband built in the room" for a monthly rental?
  3. Yes, edible pizza is rare for Pattaya but that looks exceptional.
  4. Great pics and thanks for sharing. If I may offer some advice for 1st time visitors.I have made 29 trips there since the late 70s (including 2 honeymoons) and can say w/o question,Oahu is the worst island to visit as a tourist. If you only have a few days fine but any other island has so much to offer w/o all the clutter & big city life that Honolulu does.In all those trips,I think I have spent at the most 3 nites total.I grew up in Miami and to me,Honolulu is like the Hawaiian version of Miami Beach. But for the 1st time visitor,go for it.Next in line as least favorite would be Maui for
  5. teelack, when you travel next time, ask the agent what the difference is between direct & nonstop fights. If they say same-same,tell them they are in the wrong line of work or ask if they slept through that day of class (if they indeed attended any formal training). My next visit will take me to either Detroit,Atlanta,Minneapolis or JFK and then Narita.I will make a point to play dumb and ask that question.I will also ask at Swampy on my return. But of course this will be on my airline so hopefully I won't be disappointed by the replies.I am nearly positive you will get the wrong answer from
  6. I agree Gary.I used Chrome most of the time but since I downloaded IE10,it is my default browser.
  7. Enjoy your nonstop flights and BTW,nice language. Your topic was only kept alive by my posts as it ran its course after 1 day. indeed.
  8. Thanks for once again proving my point about you arguing for the sake of arguing, like joe kicker,"All that matters is that tomorrow morning I can take a quick trip to Hat Yai Airport and book a flight to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, KL or Singapore. Direct. :ninja:". The city pairs you reference are nonstop, not direct.Keep arguing.
  9. Yes Tom,the "may" you quote is roughly .000001%.Don't argue with me on this.I didn't question industry standards when you were a secret agent, trash collecter, bail bondsman, soccer player, dog catcher or whatever the FCUK you did in a previous life.I don't give a FCUK where it's published-worldwide,the accepted standard in my industry is obvious to everyone but you. You're beginning to sound like that obnoxious joekicker, arguing for the sake of arguing.
  10. Similar to the pronunciation of "derby"."It's a local dArby".I know Tom,pronunciation & terminology aren't the same thing but get your drift. If you check the wiki for the OAG,I believe you will see the clear definition for a direct flight. It is accepted worldwide, not just here.
  11. Just got this response when I responded to a quoted a post at 1am ET (but post was recorded when I refreshed): Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: range out of order in character class at offset 54 in /home/ptalk/public_html/forums/admin/sources/classes/text/parser/bbcode.php on line 1457 Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: range out of order in character class at offset 31 in /home/ptalk/public_html/forums/admin/sources/classes/text/parser/bbcode.php on line 1457 Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation fail
  12. The one airline employees learn from. And hopefully travel agents (if they still exist).
  13. What "airline" dictionary are you referring to? LOL!
  14. Direct in the airline business means 1 or more stops, most always same plane but on a rare occasion,a change or gauge, meaning aircraft type. This usually happens with a smaller aircraft on the domestic portion and a larger one on the int'l segment.Changing planes is obviously a connection.Nonstop means nonstop. I do remember a few things after 32 years in the industry.
  15. Ha,Kiwis-nicest folks on earth and 2nd most beautiful country IMO.
  16. I got that same jibberish that tomcat got and at that point, could not even post a reply. But that has changed.MM,thanks for keeping on top of this-I appreciate it. I just saw this moments ago: Microsoft to push Windows 7 Service Pack 1 to users starting March 19 http://www.zdnet.com/microsoft-to-push-windows-7-service-pack-1-to-users-starting-march-19-7000012769/?s_cid=e589
  17. Things have changed since yesterday. Now using ENTER works as it should (thx for that),BUT......when responding to any post (using QUOTE button),the quote appears just as if it was part of my post-strange.This reply using the QUOTE button is a perfect example.I used QUOTE button from your reply to BigD and this is the result.Your quote is not highlighted in lite blue box as before.
  18. Thanks.So it's non-stop,not direct,excellent.
  19. I forgot to add,I tried my laptop, tablet and PC and still cannot "enter" to start a new line. No,I have not tried my phone.
  20. I just don't understand why its only this forum.
