  1. Many places with real suites where you get apartment style feel for same money. Try BVP Eastinny Place, or Sunshine Vista (haven't stayed at last one yet). Hub
  2. Dunghy: Did you see this site for the Royal Cliff apartments? One month available for 40,000-45,000. I would assume if it up to the standards of the rest of the Royal Cliff it would be nice, just not sure if it associated with the rest of the resort. Hub
  3. Thanks Emil: If you and Soi7 could keep your eyes open on the walks it would be much appreciated. A large one-bedroom suite near the beach in a place like the one above may work for us also if nothing else pans out. Hub
  4. T'nova: Near a baht bus route would be nice but not necessary. An ocean view would be desired, but not absolutely necessary.. 2+ bedrooms. I IM'd you additional info. Thanks for the help, Hub
  5. DB's on the job already, but I think very busy and going away soon. Hub
  6. I am looking to rent a condo/house rental on or by the beach for one month next year (during low season). I am looking for a bit of higher end property, if possible, understanding costs could be in the $50K-100K baht/month range. It preferably would have a living area and kitchen, not really interested in the little 40 sq meter units or studios. Jomtien, Naklua, or even a bit further out is OK. A fall back would be a nice house with pool, especially on a golf course, but beach front is prefered. Can any of you guys help me out with RE agencies or other information? I did
  7. This is the first thread I've ever read where "my seat pitch is better than yours" are fighting words!! Hub
  8. Pen: CX used to have a periodic special where it was only 40K AA FF miles for a RT ticket. Emil and I have been waiting for that to resurface for a few years; alas, it seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird. I totally agree with you - your deal above or the $599/$699 deal they sometimes have seems a much better deal for the infrequent traveller - even with the third trip free, I would rather pay $2,100 for three CX trips than $1800 for three NW/UA trips with the freebie. I kind of fell in love with Cathay the first time I flew them 4-5 years ago, on top of the fact that the
  9. Thanks Pen! Doesn't work for my schedule, but any deals on CX are beneficial postings, IMO. Regardless of FF miles, the huge difference betwen cx economy and domestic carriers makes cx a good choice. Hub
  10. All things being equal, the ball will typically go farther in warmer weather, as you can compress the ball and get the spring effect and the full distance the ball was designed to travel. This is because a ball is easier to compress when it is warm as it is softer. A trick in cold weather is to keep a ball inyour pocket to keep it warm. You may have noted the compression listed on the ball or box (e.g., 80, 90, 100). Pros often play with 100s, because there swing speed is faster. Some amateurs should never play with 100s, because their swing speed is not fast enough to compress the
  11. Ditto on what IRS said: If you want to try the westin, go through priceline (although you may end up with the JWM, not too much of a hassle as not too far and also a 5*) for around $75-80/night. For lower cost range, swiss grottino. Both girl-friendly and by soi 19. http://www.grottino.com/page.aspx?page_id=12 Hub
  12. Were you playing from the AARP tees again? Those last three holes kill a lot of scores, methinks. Hub
  13. Agreed, and many other factors as well including tax rates, availablity of rentals in the area, maintenance costs, etc. Hub
  14. One of the guys in Made In Thailand shopping market has them for 250 baht apiece. They come with the full package from the manufacturer (i.e., tags, promo materials). Have bought these several times and every time have had good responses, including a nephew and a client of mine that play/played professionally and have been to UK many times and bought shirts there also. Hub
  15. I noticed in a few other threads that members were refering to Ladyboys as "blokeish" or nor "blokeish", which I thought was extremely clever. I was wondering if there could be scale defining the relative amount of blokeishness for a LB. I took a crack at it. Of course I will defer to Tabmule and Roland on this one. Hub
  16. Thanks Duece: Looking forward to the rest of the pics. Thank god there was no push again and "playoff". BTW, your FLb caddy has some nice legs on her. Hub
  17. Rama Gardens: A luxurious resort in the city occupy two low-rise wings, located only 5 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes to down town. It consists of 500 newly refurbished rooms and suites situated amidst a well manicured 26 acres of gardens with two lake-sized swimming pools plus a modern sports complex. It is a premier property surrounded by lush greenery acres of grass expanses, tranquil lotus ponds and tropical floral all year round http://www.ramagardenshotel.com/ Stayed here via Doghaus after Kanchanaburi trip lasy year, the new building (grand courtyard) is extremel
  18. Do a search, several reviews in last two-three months on this place. Hub
  19. I also have to say, while not as nice as KK or LC, gold old SCC which is very close to Pattaya is a good option since they speeded up the greens. My info is old (last year) but liked being able to hop out quickly for good fair test of golf, greens used to be too slow. Like also that I can usually break 90 as I have played it enough.
  20. Doghaus here on the board can fix you up with an outing and has some discount arrangements with the courses. Just send him an IM. http://www.solargolf.net/thailand-golfcourses.htm I sent you an IM for some other DIY options.
  21. Hilly: You've got us perched on the edge of our seats now.... can not one of you lowlifes post the results and a few pics? Hub
  22. I would say that Singapore and Cathay are the best and usually one or the other gets voted best each year - : http://www.airlinequality.com/2005/airline-05-ent.htm can't even compare them to US airlines like NWA, IMO. Hub
  23. Lobin missed a three-footer? Now that's unusual. Let me guess, it never even scared the cup? He only makes those after he's hit a rake and the Cup's on the line. Hub
