Further Boeing Dreamliner delays called 'inevitable' By Ben Mutzabaugh, USA TODAY Further delays to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner are "inevitable" as a result of Boeing grounding its 787 test fleet following an on-board fire on one of the jets. At least that's according to Douglas Harned, a Sanford C. Bernstein analyst, who predicts Boeing will no longer be able to deliver it's the first 787 to launch customer to ANA as projected in February. Bloomberg News writes "even in a best-case scenario, with no fundamental electrical flaws, further delays are 'inevitable' because it will be difficult to continue those specific tests with repairs underway, said [Harned]." (BNO NEWS) — The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Friday said it has no plans to resume certification testing of Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner aircraft until it fully understands what caused an incident on Tuesday. “The FAA does not plan to resume certification testing until we clearly understand the cause of the incident and identify any corrective actions that might be needed,” said FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford, while adding that it only applies to flight testing of the aircraft.

It's nothing to do with engines for him - they're only an excuse for him to vent his xenophobia. He couldn't care less about GE or P+W engines. He does care about who makes them though. Going by his past record though and the BigD "Kiss of Death" ... his musings could spell disaster for the GE/P+W Engine Alliance. As for his "expectations" ...

I can't see what the problem is. The OP has purchased some sort of restricted ticket and now wants to change it for an earlier departure date. He'll have to pay a change fee (normally 75 quid for each change on Qatar's restricted tickets. He'll also have to pay the difference in cost between what he paid originally and the cheapest fare that is currently available - unless his agent has fobbed him off with some sort of package deal ticket.
