  1. You've got to laugh. Having started the "Boeing is kicking ... " thread, he suddenly doesn't want to talk about the Dreamliner. Do you reckon room service at Skytop delivers humble pie?
  2. Is that why you have to go back to February to dig up some news? Between your "Boeing is kicking Euro butt" nonsense and Scally's "On budget and on time" crap this thread must rate as the biggest own-goal in the history of the board.
  3. Ouch ...! Again. The words 'foot' and 'shoot' come to mind.
  4. Got to laugh at Bunky trying to pass that off as news. Talk about slice and dice ...... Meanwhile, back at the ranch ...
  5. Short stopovers now showing at 571 quid.
  6. Using 20/1 - 10/2, Kayak is showing Emirates from Brum at 616 quid with good connections or 571 quid with crap connections on the outbound. Up to you whether it's worth 45 quid less to spend 9 hours in Dubai.
  7. Nobody claimed it was new - only useful.
  8. A handy link for those guys who want to keep up to speed with the exchange rates of the banks shown below. Thailand Banks' Exchange Rates The link to the Siam Commercial Bank is dud, this is the correct one
  9. The problem has already been identified and the fix notified. Is the 787 is still grounded? Any updates?
  10. Your xenophobia is showing again.
  11. Here we go again .... Further Boeing Dreamliner delays called 'inevitable' By Ben Mutzabaugh, USA TODAY Further delays to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner are "inevitable" as a result of Boeing grounding its 787 test fleet following an on-board fire on one of the jets. At least that's according to Douglas Harned, a Sanford C. Bernstein analyst, who predicts Boeing will no longer be able to deliver it's the first 787 to launch customer to ANA as projected in February. Bloomberg News writes "even in a best-case scenario, with no fundamental electrical flaws, further delays are 'inevitable' because it will be difficult to continue those specific tests with repairs underway, said [Harned]." FAA halts certification testing of Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner after incident WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) — The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Friday said it has no plans to resume certification testing of Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner aircraft until it fully understands what caused an incident on Tuesday. “The FAA does not plan to resume certification testing until we clearly understand the cause of the incident and identify any corrective actions that might be needed,” said FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford, while adding that it only applies to flight testing of the aircraft.
  12. The BAT spat (or rather, the whole import valuation thing) is ongoing. You can't get Pall Mall either.
  13. Your xenophobia is showing again.
  14. There's nowt wrong with their website.
  15. The sad thing is that the 787 production charade was so predictable. The greatest achievement at Boeing was convincing people otherwise. From 2006 ....
  16. They already have. Looks like the "major problem" isn't a major problem at all - except for RR's accounts. LONDON (Reuters) - Rolls-Royce said it would fix an engine fault which forced a Qantas A380 superjumbo to make an emergency landing last week, although the cost of the incident will mean slower profit growth this year. "The failure was confined to a specific component in the turbine area of the engine. This caused an oil fire, which led to the release of the intermediate pressure turbine disc," the British enginemaker said on Friday. "Our process of inspection will continue and will be supplemented by the replacement of the relevant module according to an agreed program." Chief executive John Rose said the upgrade would be undertaken in collaboration with EADS-owned planemaker Airbus, Trent 900 customers, and regulators. Anyway, the RR episode was a nice little diversion from the saga of the self-igniting 787. Are the test aircraft still grounded, or what? More importantly, which supplier was to blame?
  17. Your (sic) going to have to work on your maths and/or reading comprehension.
  18. It's nothing to do with engines for him - they're only an excuse for him to vent his xenophobia. He couldn't care less about GE or P+W engines. He does care about who makes them though. Going by his past record though and the BigD "Kiss of Death" ... his musings could spell disaster for the GE/P+W Engine Alliance. As for his "expectations" ...
  19. I can't see what the problem is. The OP has purchased some sort of restricted ticket and now wants to change it for an earlier departure date. He'll have to pay a change fee (normally 75 quid for each change on Qatar's restricted tickets. He'll also have to pay the difference in cost between what he paid originally and the cheapest fare that is currently available - unless his agent has fobbed him off with some sort of package deal ticket.
  20. Most 7-11s simply print out a receipt thing with the 16 digit code on it if you want it for later use. They were probably being very accurate in their response to your question i.e. they have no cards.
  21. Why do you now have a hard-on for Rolls Royce, or BSA for that matter? Is it simply a medium to express your xenophobia, or what? I'll give Scally his due, at least he actually knows something about the companies and industries involved, but for you it just seems to be a smokescreen to cover your xenophobic musings.
  22. LOL. No, it simply means you can't quote me. Anyway, I'm looking forward to your "GE is kicking Euro butt" thread.
  23. Totally different engine types. For any engine manufacturer. You don't know whether it's coincidental, or not. I'm sure the regulatory bodies will be doing their jobs as we type.
