  1. If you say so. It certainly puts the accuracy of the rest of your post in context. I wasn't criticising; I was offering my opinion based on my life long observations of world and national sports.
  2. How many A320s has Airbus delivered. Or how many 747s has Boeing delivered and how many are on order? Where have I heard that before? You and your predictions. See! You're just as thick as Paddy in Philly. You forgot to take into account all the penalty payments they will have to make, so back to the abacus for you! It depends on a lot of things, including their rate of production.
  3. I'm not at all sure how you reached that conclusion. They may be the most popular or highly paid, but it's stretching things somewhat to call them the best athletes. I know in the US that your football players performed well in the old Superstars competition, but that wasn't repeated with 'soccer' players in Europe. Nowadays, I think that in terms of overall fitness, some of the international rugby players would be hard to beat. It doesn't really happen in the rest of the world either. Again, I fail to see how you reached that conclusion. As per my reply to Hub, IMHO it would be folly for either the US or England to underestimate Slovenia. Like the US, they don't have many stars but they do have one of the meanest defences in European football. You think so? They're still dancing on the streets of Cardiff, Belfast and Glasgow. :D
  4. Sorry, Hub. As you say, "My bad". I meant that it will only be relevant to the English fans and media who are currently busy sharpening their knives. As it is, I totally agree with your assessment - even if I lost 100 quid on backing the US to win - the US results last year in the Confederation Cup should have been a wake up call to many. FWIW, the critical point for the US may come down to how many goals they score against Algeria (assuming they win) as a win for either England or the US against Slovenia isn't a foregone conclusion by any stretch of the imagination. Like the US performance last year, Slovenia's performance in the qualification stages shouldn't be underestimated. IMHO, Heskey's miss was just as important to the result as Green's blunder (or Green's second-half save for that matter). The difference is that Heskey does it in every game he plays.
  5. Grerg there's no dispute; at least I don't think so. The relevant quote is "FIFA, through several companies, have sold the rights for the broadcast of 2010 FIFA World Cup to the following broadcasters. In the case of Thailand, the broadcast rights for Thailand were sold through RS, who still retain the media rights for the country. It's exactly the same set-up that was in place for the 2008 European Champioships.
  6. Err, in case you haven't noticed Boeing hasn't actually delivered any 787s, so it certainly hasn't surpassed the break-even point. It seems that you know as much about accounting as you do aircraft manufacturing, hotel reservations and flight bookings. BTW, what is the break even point on the 787? Or don't you know that either?
  7. No, you have. Because you're thick.
  8. You don't need to .....
  9. No, but there are age limits ....
  10. You didn't mention anything about the A380 or 787 in your statement, "Damn shame they have so few orders compared to Boeing". Airbus has a larger order book than Boeing. End of! Even your stupid comparison shows how thick you are. Why don't you compare the 787 to the A350, or the A380 to the 747. I may as well debunk (an appropriate word) your statement by pointing out that Airbus has more orders for the A320 than Boeing has for the 787. You should stick to the cut and paste nonsense - but you can't even perform that simple task without fucking up.
  11. Actually, it's a typical Vic comment. There are loads of Yanks who actually understand the game.
  12. Actually they have 40-odd more orders outstanding before the Berlin Airshow is taken into account. You're not very good at this, are you.
  13. RS International have purchased the broadcast rights for Thailand from FIFA. It's then for them to sell the games on to the actual broadcasters and that's exactly what's happened. And it's exactly the same story for Brazil 2014.
  14. Don't confuse the Centera with the Centara. The Centera is what was the old Nipa Lodge.
  15. Isn't that the same place where a kid was sucked into the pool filtration system or something and nobody noticed?
  16. Do you think that they can receive US Armed Forces Radio in Rayong?
  17. As I said, you have absolutely no idea what the break-even point is, only what it was in 2007. Again, as I said, "It's certainly not the same as it was last month, or even last week". And it's certainly not what it was in 2007.
  18. Pubs and clubs in the UK pay hundreds of pounds per month to transmit BSkyB. I've spent thousands in the FLB and its previous incarnations long before you ever set foot in Pattaya. The fact that I have chosen not to do so since you took over the bar is merely a reflection of .......... [fill in the blanks as you feel fit].
  19. Me, forget the game? I'll be reminding nidnoyham for years to come. As for the English goalkeeper, judging by the number of uploads showing his 'goal', it looks like he could become the WC's first internet superstar.
  20. It's how things work in Thailand. Jeez, they even translate it into English to make it easier for barowners to understand.
  21. The US result will only be relevant if England fail to qualify for the knock-out stages. If they do, last night's game will soon be forgotten. It would be nice to see the US get Germany in the next round though.
  22. Dear Confused in Rayong, You aren't very good with this 'facts' thing, are you? In both cases the teams failure to win was penalised; instead of 3 points, they got one. It was the teams' achievement in not getting beaten that was rewarded. : I know that the chance of more than two outcomes must be difficult for you to comprehend but I'm sure the girlies at 7Eleven will explain it to you the next time you pop in. Anyway, I'm glad to see that you managed to wait until Day 2 before coming out with your normal uninformed bile.
