Most guys don't live here though do they and you don't need to go to the dentist every week or even month.

Dr Aree is at the Pattaya International Hospital on Soi 4 2nd Road end. A sonic clean and polish runs about Bt1000 or so.

Though I do know the owners I agree that they do offer a good service for a fair price. I think the highlight is the fact that the bus is retrofitted with only 6 large seats as opposed to some competitors which guarantee a maximum of 6 people but have the original 9 small seats. A little like business class as opposed to economy !

I've used Dr Aree for a fwe years now and can highly recommend her. My girlfriend also uses her for regular work and cleaning.

Pay more, get a better flight connection. As its from LHR, just go direct.
-
Other options are BA via LHR, Lufthansa via FRT or MUC, Air Frog / LKM or SAS/Finair etc. Personally, I'd use any of the 1+11 options rather than a 6+6 option as I hate those.

If you don't want to get a handmade suit made for you in the UK, go to Marks and Spencer. At least it won't fuck up on you. If in London, go to Selfridges and get some handmade shirts tailored from block psizes from around GBP70 or so each, less in a sale. Very good quality.

I've been looking this last week at truck, specifically the Toyota Hi-lux and the Isuzu D-Max. Both will do finance with deposits ranging from 10% to 35% for various models at interest rates around 3%. You can usually get a load of stuff thrown in as well as free servicing fo 50k km. Moving them on price is hard and I've not had a great deal of luck except some cash back (same think really). The free insurance has stopped for the moment so you want at least 20k back for that. They have loads of stock but price negotiation is difficult. I'll probably get them to set up some test drives

I ma seriously looking to relocate from Thailand
torrenova replied to sinkorswim's topic in Expat Issues
Vietnam is a great country but I cannot imagine living there. I love to visit but ........ Cambodia is a shit hole though I am far from experienced. It sounds like you;re pissed off about property laws rather than Thailand so do yourself a favour and rent. -
Don't send the money until you find what you want, just make the arrangement so that you can SWIFT it remotely when you are in LOS. Also, send it in local currency, say USD, EUR, GBP or whatever it is in, do not send THB. As for somewhere, prices are way OTT in many places and people selling are being unrealistic. You will need to hear "no, bugger off, I'm not accepting that offer" loads of times as you make well below asking price offers on places. No need to pay headline figures.

Do you believe that thais are the worst drivers

Should have shot the shithead. Probably one of lifes wasters. -
If you have the cash, or can live with the repayments, buy new. Little depreciation, especially on trucks and no worries as you get warranty and dealer backup.

I live in View Talay 2 which has two blocks (A+ and have done for over 2 years. Much improved security, good on site laundry, mini mart etc. 2 pools, quiet (especially block . On the baht bus route to Jomtien and Pattaya with motornbike taxis outside. You can get a well presented large high floor studio for less than Bt2m.

Another highlight of the festive season is Xmas Eve in the FLB !

Thai are OK LHR-BKK in economy. So you don't get a personal TV but the seat is bigger than BA and BA have those damn retrofit tv things under many chairs. You get what you pay for and yes Thai has been resting on its laurals for years. Personally, now being out of points, price and schedule is more important. I'm not paying an extra Bt15,000 for a TV !

Amazing what photoshop (or a different picture) can do !

Corned beef hash as the Shamrock in Pattayaland 2. No.6 I think.

In response to some comments, I think we should keep in mind the fact that the vast number of contributors here do not have transport. Going to Naklua, 3rd Road, right the way along Jomtien beach or even further afield is a serious decision. Walking or getting the baht bus along the road is what most guys probably do.

Need feedback how much would you pay or wouldnt you
torrenova replied to Sullo's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
A few years ago I enquired about costs for a helicopter transfer from Don Muang to Pattaya and was quoted something like Bt90,000 one way ! Apart from the airport, which itself is some 30/40 minutes out of town, you only have the Royal Cliff and presumably cannot land there if not staying. The idea is a non starter I'm afraid, not only for cost but because visa rules have changed. Do a trip to Hua Hin or somewhere you cannot fly to from Pattaya and you may have an occasional "business man" service. -
Wanting advice on Internet Connection

TOT 512/256 is Bt700 TOT 1024/256 is Bt1000 OK here in Jomtien. -
Look, the girl will not be getting up back at her place at midday for sure ! If she has to get into work say circa 7pm she'll get up late afternoon and if she has to be in the bar at 5pm she may get up as late as 4pm. I say no less than midday and likely not until after lunch, whether food is actually taken. Any refusal for 2nd round action, putting clothes on or any "buffalo fell down the well" bullshit should be met with St rate, no tip and her boss told she agreed LT and tried to fuck off after ST.

Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule
torrenova replied to BigDUSA's topic in Idle Chit Chat
And don't they use the cost plus basis for US military planes. Therefore having no realistic budget and allowing the company to wallow and absort taxpayers cash as it has no real incentive to reduce costs ? -
Lets face it, Bt700 could be part of a Bt1000 meal or a Bt3000 meal. What were starters, what were set menus, what were desserts ? House wine ? Where is wine largely from ? Mid range prices ? Champagne ? etc. Sorry but we need more. My personal belief and this is supported by my driving up and down Thappraya Road a few times a day, is that the area cannot support all these restaurants. I mean, you now have: Pan Pan (probably the cheapest of the bunch) Indian by Nature Gians Cuvee Habitu Brunos Manhattans Mata Hari as well as a couple of support acts. I canno

Went down to see Chris soon after he opened. Not a bad place at all but a little out of the way down at Jomtien Soi 9. Will have to pop down again for something to eat.

I would expect that they ask this because there is no credit card guarantee. Therefore, I would expect to pay 10,000 deposit and then 36,000. The 10,000 being offsetable when I leave against room service, electric, water etc. If you can give a credit card guarantee, then they should require no deposit but will probably take authorisation for around Bt46,000.
