I'd book something up. Do you really want to be walking about dragging your luggage when its 30c+ ?
-
I think you'll find that they all offer standard and perhaps increased rates during the peak season. Hit the net and email / phone them.

Sorry but what is 'airline standby status' ?

From what I've read, I don't like the sound of this. I know science moves on but sort of blocking something or coating it just doesn't sound right to me. Ease of reversibility also makes me think about how reliable it is in the first place. Better just to get the chop I think.

I find it strange in Thaialnd that car insurance is based on the car, not the driver. Everywhere else I know, the insurance quotation is based upon the perceived risk of a certain person driving. Are convicted drunk drivers banned in LOS ? Sorry, I forgot. The cowardly, lying, cheating bastards that they are, they run away after an accident.

Prices for selling and renting condos way over thr top. Past its sell by date in that respect.

I wouldn't bring her to Pattaya, there are loads better places in Thailand to go as a couple. What will she do when she catches you looking at the girls ? because you will.

Going Without a Reservation during Christmas
torrenova replied to jakedsnake's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Baiyoke location is ok, you can get to Walking Street in a few minutes and you are on the baht bus route all along to BigC. I'd take the offer if the price is ok. As for guest fees, that is not something I have heard. Just tell them to fuck off. -
I saw that a few times as well. Got to agree, overplaying the I'm an Aussie card or perhaps he was just pissed !

Sandy Springs Soi 13 Pig & Whistle Soi 7 - no pool Flippers, Eastiny etc Soi 7/8 De la mar - Walking Street Royal Palace / Twins / Welcome Plaza -
I haven't stayed there but the Outback bar was a bag of shit when I went. Few old girls. Smallish pool - I did look at some rooms and they seemed fine but again, why choose the location. Seemed very quiet when i went and I can understand that from the location.

Great deal on the Landmark
torrenova replied to Ilich Ramirez Sanchez's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I don't rate the Landmark at all but that rate is good for the hotel. -
gulf air £420 return london to bangkok!
torrenova replied to marleyboy's topic in Airline Discussion
I took Gulf Air onwway a couple of years ago as a cheap option but never again. I would only consider an indirect flight if it was like 1 or 2 hours plus 10 or 10 hours plus 1 etc. such as BKK-FRT-LHR/LCY etc. -
There will be more restaurants in the new edition out I think at the end of the year.
-
Can't fault the service as you say, always professional. Maybe in its next incarnation, they will not have to chase so much business and can be more selective. Unfortunately, I know one place going in the next edition which I won't condemn here but will be on par with the Raj and do nothing for the Door2Door reputation. Perhaps Dave and Des should be forced to eat in the restaurants they allow on the menu ?
-
I know the guys who own it and have spoken to them but they are more concerned with the service levels of their staff, not the quality of the delivered goods. Maybe they should have a feedback service as places like the Raj actually make you question using the Door2Door service.
-
Try the blackened ribs, even better !

Wondering who has had any experience of this service ? My experiences: The service is good, if a little pricy (when you know it from the inside). I have used: The Raj - 4 dishes inedible, total rubbish Shenanigans - soups good, breakfasts did not travel well, chilli 3/10 Fatties - large portions but very poor quality. Substance yes, quality no. Tequila Reef - overrated, poor quality. Japanese Kitchen - the two dishes I tried to order were not available ! I get New Orleans to deliver direct, the same with other restaurants when I like some food in. I have eaten in Tequil

In your budget, don't underestimate your needs, both in the short and long term. Don't buy somewhere unless you know Pattaya and the surrounds well. Even then rent for a few months. You can't live as a tourist, even with finances, it will kill you. Get out and about and meet some of the locals and develop some interests. Pattaya Expats Club, Pattaya Sports Club and the like are a good start.

The RG is the Residence Garden, the Royal Garden turned into the Marriott a good while ago. Why just not have a holiday and leave the business shit behind, picking up email from an internet cafe ?
-
You can get wifi with TOT if they offer ADSL in any condo I believe. It would be your own account but should reach the pool i would think. You can have in View Talay 2 for sure.

The one I used, 5* Visa Runs does all the paperwork for you, all you have to do is turn up.
-
Get a multiple entry non immigrant "O" visa which will give you 90 days, extendable for 30 days at immigration. Then you would need only one border run.

A lot of stuff never leaves Pattaya I am sure and a hell of a lot of stuff never arrives. I know that from personal experience. The last packet i sent to Holland took nearly 2 weeks airmail. Why I don't know.

For the train you have to go to Bangkok and then the best option is to go overnight with a companion. Takes forever and not so comfortable unless in the 1st class sleepers. I have taken it as far as Trang on the overnight but I would not go as far as Malaysia. Fly.
