  19. Just came across this on another board. THREE more Asian budget carriers have sought permission from the Civil Aeronautics Board to fly to the Philippines through the Clark International Airport. Tiger Airways of Singapore, Malaysia's Air Asia, and its subsidiary Thai Air Asia, have applied for a foreign air carrier's permit to launch flights to the former US military air base by June this year, according to CAB executive director Tomas Manalac. The three carriers were taking advantage of the government's decision to adopt an open skies policy for passengers and cargo within the Clark international airport. Jetstar Asia of Singapore had earlier asked the CAB for a permit to mount flights from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Manalac said a provisional authority might be issued soon. As for the three low-cost carriers planning to fly to Clark, he said the documents they have submitted to the CAB were incomplete. Manalac said he would soon meet with the lawyers of the three carriers to advise them of the requirements and the application process. While waiting to complete the process, the CAB chief said that under a liberalized air charter program for Clark airport, the three carriers could already mount charter flights to the Central Luzon hub. This means that even without bilateral entitlements and pending the grant of their permit from the CAB, the budget foreign carriers could already land and take off from Clark, according to Manalac. As an incentive, the carriers would enjoy exemption from aeronautical fees at Clark for six months. Air Asia plans to fly to Clark from Kuala Lumpur; Thai Air Asia from Bangkok and Tiger Airways from Singapore. "With this program, we can bring in low-cost airlines without going through the difficult and time-consuming negotiations to amend our bilateral air service agreements," Manalac said. Lets hope this gets off the ground . Regards Matty
  20. Ting Tong First off thanx for the heads up on this hotel i owe u a beer!! My buddy checked in for 4 nights and they only had "big rooms " left at 800 baht . These rooms were on the fifth floor. Regards Matty
  21. Boys your better off booking through res 24 .the link is on the top of the page . Matty
  22. Pm 800 baht i did have a look at one the decor was same same as my room but it had a big sofa and the room was bout twice tha size . One other downside is that tha carpet needs replacing ,its beginning to look a bit shabby. Matty
  23. On my last trip my usual hotel had jacked there prices up to nearly 1500 baht a night , so it was time for a change after much research on these forums i decided on staying at the Baybreeze hotel partly due to fellow boardie ting tone raving bout it . Reservation was made by e mail and on arrival check in went smoothly now i was on the top floor and they only have one lift so sometimes there can be a wait for it . Heres a few pictures of the standard room i had this cost 600 baht a night which i think is excellent value Nice big comfy bed -no tha tg does not come with the room Wardrobe in the corner which contains the mini safe - the battery decided to die one night and could not gain access to my valuables ,upon speaking to the front desk found out that only the manger had the master keys and had gone home for the weekend ,anyway they phoned him and he brought the spare key and hey presto all sorted. The bathroom was o.k. shower in the bath, usual comp toiltries , gettin extra towels or pillows was never any drama and my room always cleaned promptly. What more could you want but a beer bar complex.LOL Summary I would stay there again at 600 baht its good value ,rooms are clean not huge but just right the room also contains a new tele with all the right sockets for plugging your dvd player in etc The only downside is that there is only 1 lift and sometimes there can be a wait . Location is just off second road think 1 block north of Kiss food drink and about 10 yards in to the soi . Matty
  24. Walked past there 3 weeks ago . Many building sites very close by and a lot of daytime noise . personally i would not reccommend staying in this hotel especially in april as its not very nice Matty
