  1. I am up to $62 US on Priceline for 5 Star, Sukumvit. Still declined. After taxes it adds up to about $75 per night. I think I will save my some money and book direct for something cheaper.
  2. I used the cash and miles with Northwest last year the end of November first of December. Cannot remember exactly when it started or how long it lasted but it was a nice deal.
  3. I just saw a huge jump in prices from the US. Last week it was approx $1000 from Minneapolis to BKK. I thought that was expensive. This week the prices have jumped up to $1500. This is at the end of June first part of July. I hope this jump is temorary. I do not plan on paying that much.
  4. I think I would avoid Priceline for flights. You could be routed all over the place and end up with a very long flight. Priceline is good for hotels though in Bangkok.
  5. i stayed at Eastiny Place in December 2003. The room was clean as everyone said. Nothing fancy though. Basic room with bed, dresser and 21" TV. Swimming pool was ok but water was cold. Did not get a lot of sun I don't think. Having stayed at the Jw Marriott the week before it was kind of a dreary place in comparison. But it is close to all of the action on Soi 7 and 8. Next time I think I want to check out Flipper House for a larger room (suite) or may go with Residence Garden as everyone says that is so nice.
  6. I should have said I am in the U.S.A. I have seen some decent prices on Eva from Los Angeles. But they are in May and June. I have to work my travel in on specific times so I do not have a lot of flexibility. Cheapest I have found from Minneapois/St. Paul is about $1000 US. I am hoping that NWA has a deal where you can swap saved mileage. Was able to do that in early December and it only cost $480.00. If not then I guess I will just have to suck it up and pay the $1000. It is still two months out and deals may occur.
  7. How come it is low season in June and July when I want to go this year but the flights are more expensive than when I went in early December last year. I keep looking and so far have not found any good deals. Hopefully in the next month some specials will pop up.
  8. I stayed at the Royal Asia last month. Had the Queen suite. It is actually located in a building next to the main hotel. Has a small living room, very large bedroom, tv, air, tile floor throughout. But after one night I checked out. The water at first did not work in the shower, then when it did it ran terrible. After I had showered there was a black muck on the floor of the tub. Not sure if was from the water or if the tile floors were just filthy. Room did have an inroom safe. For me it was just to old and rundown to enjoy. And it was a long walk off of Suk. Must say though tha
  9. What time of year did you get these super cheap flights for less than $200. I am looking to go in July and hope to find some good discounts.
  10. Flash: I will be staying at Eastiny Place in Decmber. I have read reviews and was just wondering what you think of the hotel. Compared to others in the area.
  11. How about taxis. I will be leaving Pattaya that day to head for Bangkok. Will I have any trouble getting transportation. Are the malls closed also.
