Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

Damn Brits. Can't understand them half the time. They need to learn to speak American like we expect everyone else to.

Yes I have heard that Villayouth does use the backdoor quite often.

If I wanted to get a bottle of Jack Daniels or a good bottle of rum where would be the best place to go in Pattaya?
-
If I remember correctly they have them for rent about 120 baht per night.

AccessAmerica travel insurance - good results

If I remember correctly I use Patriot insurance when I travel to LOS. You can customize how much you need and the price is not bad. -
Delta is upgrading equipment BKK-NRT in June
kikc69 replied to bigdelta's topic in Airline Discussion
Can You get me a cheap flight in March? Ever since they took over NWA ot seems the prices are always high. I fly out of the Twin Cities (NWA's former headquarters) and cannot find the deals that I used to. -

I like the 330 versus the 757 that they sometimes use. Their prices are high from the states though. -
LK Metopole or Tim's Botique
kikc69 replied to shaolindude's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I just finished staying at Tim's and stayed last year at the Metropole. Tim's is a very short distance from 2nd road just around the corner from Tim's beer bar. Beds are nice and large, the room I was in had a very large soaking tub but no jacuzzi. I think if you pay more you can get a room with jacuzzi. Staff is excellent. Very attentive and friendly. Restaurant not so great and somewhat expensive. Swimming pool is on top floor and very nice. They have a swim up bar where you can order a drink. Metropole is farther down Soi Diana close to Soi Buhkao. The room I had was a suite so separate living room and bedroom. Did not use the pool as it did not look comfortable to me. If you like LK properties you might look at the Renaisance(?) as it is also on Soi Diana but closer to 2nd road. I would take Tim's over Metropole based on larger soaking tub, pool, and location. I booked though Agoda and it cost approximately 1700 baht a night. While there I tried to extend my stay by a few days and they told me I would have to book again through Agoda as they could give me a better deal. Ended up going to Pattaya Bay resort which was only 999 baht a night with breakfast for two included and also free Wi Fi. Tim's charged 300 baht for 24 hours of Wifi. -
Pattaya Beer Garden - New Video and blurb

Some really good looking girls there Pete. Also glad to hear that you have some lighting on the tables now. It was always so difficult trying to read the menu with the waiter holding a flashlight. -
I have looked at China before but from what I remember the total travel time is something like 27 hours. Pay the little extra and you can make the trip in about 19 or 20 hours.

LK Renasaince(?) or Tim's Boutique
kikc69 replied to kikc69's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Thanks for the suggestions. I decided on Tim's. Both locations are good. Tims pool looks very nice on top of the building. Reserved the room through Agoda. Only worry is if I get there and they give me two single beds and not a King size one. -
I can get a room at either one for about the same price. Both look nice. Any recomendations as to which one is better?

Yes I think they are going from the A330 to a 757. It will be a much more uncomfortable 8 hour flight.
-
Yes but with prices down business may pick up!!!

I booked my flight on Northwest airlines from the Twin Cities to BKK and it cost $1400. I looked today and it had dropped to $900. Luckily I was able to go in and rebook the same flight. The total difference is $446.00 so they charge $250 for rebooking and my net gain is then $196.00. That $196.00 is given back as an e-certificate which I can use on another flight. Flights out of LA have been listed at around $700 on China Air. (Actually have to go through Orbitz for the cheaper fare but good deals are popping up.) Maybe business will pick up in Pattaya.

I think www.kayak.com is a great site for checking airline prices. They find the best prices and then direct you to the web site for booking. When it comes to booking I usually go to the airlines web site. I fly Northwest quite often and book directly through them.

I plan on taking a short trip to Phuket from Pattaya when I am there in March. Does anyone have a recommendation on an agent in Pattaya who can book a flight and hotel room in Phuket. I want to wait until I get there and book it as plans change plus I would rather pay cash than use credit cards online. Also any recommendations for a hotel or resort in Phuket would be appreciated. Not looking hight price, between 2000 and 3000 baht at most. Thanks for any help.

What dates are you looking at spgfcs? I have found United out of Twin Cities via Chicago for around $1200 in March. Northwest is asking $1400 from Twin Cities. What a monopoly. Also I noticed that since they are merging with Delta they are taking the A320 out of service from Narita to BKK and will be using the 757. To bad as I liked the A320 with the screens in the seatback.

Flb has a great new band called the Rythmn Tracks. Filipino band with to good looking girl singers and a variety of music. What other places are there in Pattaya that have a good band to sit back and listen to. I know there is the Blues Factory and Lucifers but looking for other venues. Any one have any good choices?

Pattaya Beer Garden Update – 4 July
kikc69 replied to PattayaPete's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
The work of the husband of the owner (that's me) is always varied and seems to include a bit of social work as well. Recently one of our customers decided to kill himself by jumping off the balcony of the bar. Three of our tiny female waitresses managed to stop this 6 footer before he could jump. I sat with him for an hour or so as his tale of life in fun city got more and more bizarre. Seems he had bar fined a girl the day before and then after an argument, dispatched her without paying for her services. He told me how all the Thais knew of this transgression and were out to kill him so he decided he may as well end it all himself. As we sat in the bar he pointed out Thai people (our staff actually) looking at their cell phones and told me they were all sending his photo to all the other Thais so they could find him and kill him. Eventually I calmed him down and walked with him to the bar where the girl worked. We managed to find her and I asked her if there was a problem. She said (in Thai) that the guy was nuts and she didn't want anything to do with him but it would be nice if he gave her the 1500 baht he owed her. He duly paid up and I left him nursing a beer and looking much relieved. Was the guys name LVP? I think he is probably schizophrenic and needs meds. Calm for now but eventually he will not have someone to stop him.
