  1. pat809, By no means am I pointing the finger at you for the service I received at the BVP. I seriously think that a lot of the problems had to do with it being high season and the fact that they were booked solid the entire time. I too tipped one of the maids a few hundred baht to insure clean towels. Worked for two days until she was whisked away to clean other floors. I asked her how many floors she had to clean and she replied 3. With approximately 12 rooms per floor that is being overworked in my opinion. I saw her leave one night at 10PM and know she was there before 7AM that same day. The hotel management should hire more staff for starters. It might alleviate some of the problems I had. Based on my experience however, I can not recommend it. In 6 months to a year the growing pains of being new may have disappeared.
  2. sinbinjack, I stayed in a condo last September/October. This past December/January I switched to a hotel. The condo will likely give you a lower price even when you take into account that you will have to pay for water and electricity as extras. For anything less than a 2 month stay I would choose a hotel. Especially in low season where you can likely strike almost as good a deal. My reason for that is geared toward the experience I had with TG's. Most do not like the fact that condo's are not cleaned and supplied with fresh towels and bed linen's on a daily basis. I tried to get my condo owner to have the cleaning staff clean my room everyday and was willing to pay for it (120 baht/day). He said it couldn't be done as it would upset the entire cleaning schedule. If you can find a condo or maid to clean the place daily, then a condo would be better as others have suggested. I did run into a board member my last trip who lives in Pattaya year round. His solution to the cleaning was to get his TG of the night to clean his place the next morning as part of the deal. Works for him.
  3. Tom and Turk, The second review of the Bella Villa Prima HOTEL on Soi 4 is mine. It is NOT a serviced apartment. It is a hotel. All of the signage state that it is a hotel. Their business card make the claim that it is a hotel, not serviced apratments. I have stayed at serviced apartments before and do understand and appreciate the difference between the two. I did see at least one person a day over a period of 8 days getting turned away from the hotel even with a guaranteed reservation. 2 guys complained bitterly to the Manager that they had paid a deposit and had Visa receipts to prove it. They still were not given a room. I would have had no problem with the "duvet cover" if they changed it as they stated they would. I'm sure you would love to check into a room only to find some cum stains from the previous occupant on the duvet cover. It likely would not bother you. When I checked in the duvet cover in my room had cigarette ashes on it and smudged into it. Maybe the problems I experienced were because the hotel is fairly new and they were not prepared for high season. That does not change my opinion that I would not go back nor would I recommend it. I stayed because I too read the first review and I would have checked out after my 2nd day if I could have found another hotel that was not fully booked. I had the opportunity to stay at Sabai Inn but they only had a vacancy for 6 days and I needed 17. Turk, Maybe you should do as Cheshire Tom suggests and either find another place close by and check out the Bella Villa Prima for yourself. Or check in to the Bella Villa Prima (if they manage to honour your reservation) and then form your own opinion. As I mentioned in my review, positives are electronic in-room safe, excellent air con and lots of hot water. During the time I was there Soi 4 was also used by many large tour buses as if it were the backstretch of the Indianapolis 500.
  4. What is the best and cheapest transport to Laem Chabang? Looking to go the morning of Sunday January 4.
  5. Gabor, You just don't seem to get it. Maybe there is something lost in the translation. Pete was obviously hinting quite strongly to you that he is a little tired of you hijacking his site to plug yours. He is too nice to out and out tell you to fuck off. Instead of ceasing and desisting on your attempts to get people to read your site, you post a new thread. After Pete blocks that one, you will start another. Isn't it enough that he has graciously allowed you a link from his site? Are you the Hungarian Amway Salesman or Jehovah Witness always showing up on the doorstep at the most inopportune time? As for your comment that it is one topic, I have seen you plug your site ad infinitum on just about every thread on this board. I agree with Pat809, Enough already!
  6. pat809 Thanks for the great post. 20 hours untl take-off for LOS ;D ;D ;D
  7. Why would you imagine she isn't forking out the baht? If her English is not all that good she could see it as an investment in education to obtain more Farang Walking ATM's and make more money for herself. Or she could have some poor sucker sending her money so she can take the lessons. Seen both happen.
  8. Gabor, This isn't the first time you have whined about your website. If it is truly non-profit as you claim then people will visit it if they choose. I've been to once or twice and the information is good. Just hate seeing the continual plugs for further recognition.
  9. Turk I have had success on Thai Holidays with TG's in MBK in Bkk. Lots wandering around who are looking for "hansum man" they can ST or LT with. In Pty I have had the same luck at Royal Garden Plaza or on Jomtien Beach. Lots of BG's go to those places on days off but are still "working" when they see a Walking ATM.
  10. CP, I was in Orlando Florida 2 years ago at a Waterpark. I am not a svelte individual but I was astounded to see the obesity of the majority of the people there. 10, 11, 12 year old kids exceeding 225 pounds. It was repulsive. Were they all Americans? No idea. A benefit for me was I certainly felt slim and trim with all that lard hanging about. Maybe its due to the fact that every restaurant I ate at in Florida served Fred Flinstone sized proportions. Perhaps that is the way restaurants can compete and people feel they are getting a good bang for their buck. Hence the overeating leading to obesity. All I know is that I won't be visiting that waterpark again. With your back problems and inactivity would your self described "nice pert petite bum" not be starting to get some FWC spread?
  11. Is it because the English are use to "riding" large mammals and the Thai's are not? ;D ;D
  12. SH, I am not a fan of the game played with the round ball anyway. Cricket, now there is a game that continaully leaves me baffled and yawning. Even worse to watch then a baseball game (excluding playoffs). I'd rather watch darts as at least I can wish I was in a bar hoisting a pint.
  13. Not only a ball but a frozen lump of horse shit
  14. Ste, This website may contain some info for you. http://atn-riae.agr.ca/asean/e2782.htm
  15. I've heard the British Army invented many things. Hockey wasn't one of them. "It originated around 1800, in Windsor, where the boys of Canada's first college, King's College School, established in 1788, adapted the exciting game of Hurley to the ice of their favorite skating ponds and originated a new winter game, Hockey. " Isn't Hurley an Irish game? Not to start a war with a fine English chap, but calling hockey "ice hockey" is like me calling the game "soccer" rather than its proper name of football. The team the Oilers played would have been either the New York Rangers or New York Islanders. Cheers [smiley=beer.gif] [smiley=beer.gif]
  16. Nidnoyham, Actually my reference was of course in regards to any TG I would have sitting on my lap, however, yes indeed myself being use to cold Canadian winters playing hockey (yes the real kind, not that shit play on a grass field), on an outdoor rink my nipples would get hard when I forgot to wear my long underwear. I believe the proper latin term for it is: Nippi Erecti. ;D ;D
  17. Cold air = erect nipples. ;D ;D ;D
  18. I have a confirmed reservation at Sandy Spring for above dates. Can't use it. Anyone need the room and I will try and have it put in your name. IM me.
  19. If that is the organ that Jon Lord of Deep Purple played, I would agree with you.
  20. Crackpot, Trust me on this... Listening to the wailing at prayer time 5 times a day along with the attendant "music" that accompanies it would make even the most hardcore hater of Techno long for the thumping beat of Western sounding music.
  21. Steve, Thanks for the link. Good entertainment
  22. Try living in a Muslim country where even Karoake bars are outlawed. After that even the odd hour or two of Techno sounds great!! ;D ;D
  23. KJ, Be thankful. For a guy like OMJ that is the only piece of ass he ever gets.
  24. pax36 and johnnyboy, Thank you for the advice. I will try the Sofitel. Saw one webiste advertising a rate of 1350 baht/night.
