how many of us are signing him up for our fantasy teams now?
  3. I'm guessing this could become a long thread. Hell, not even the pro's can settle on a swing without getting some witchdoctor like Leadbetter to screw with it (What happened to Baker-Finch? Why can't Tiger drive? Why did Feherty and Ogle quit?) Babepecker, you nailed it. Lessons, even a few, are the key. Hopefully from a pro who understands not to change your swing too much, just sort out your grip, teach some course management skills, get you playing consistent golf. Alan, I read in earlier posts you might take the game up when you retire. No place like your current home to get some lessons in preparation. Might even get you playing like Mrs Doubtfire.
  4. Hilly For what its worth, I used to play pennant and have known a few professionals. Don't know if that gives me an insight or not. Yes, you can buy cheap clubs on E-bay. There is a particularly good seller at the army base in Sydney. Don't know how you'd go with freight. Whats important is that you get clubs that suit your body type and swing. You can't play a good game with crappy clubs, but I'm thinking youd be happy to hit consistently a reasonable distance and more or less on the short grass. Dont be conned into spending a fortune on clubs, a few dollars/pounds spent on lessons will be a much better investment. I always found my practice rounds were 5-6 shots better than my comp rounds. That's because the biggest handicap in golf is that big hazard between the ears. Relax and enjoy the game, no point playing otherwise. And there's always that final hole... Ash
  5. Bignasty I've just posted the same question in the members bar. I've been checking getting it done in Bangkok but trying for more info on pattaya. It was featured on TV here a few months ago. A lot of brits and aussies are getting cosmetic surgery in LOS for half the cost at home, the savings pay for the holiday. Ash
  6. You have a talking ball sack? Must be quite a hit with the girls.....
  7. would you buy a used car from this man?
  8. Eric Yes, that is absolutely unacceptable. The kid needs to learn...bashing old ladies and blame shifting is strictly the province of the Tory Party. Ash
  9. The unmitigated gall of some teenagers! Behaving like kids! Who the hell do they think they are?
  10. Here's a little teaser based on the same principle. Pick a number from one to ten. Multiply it by nine. Add together the digits of your answer (ie. if you picked 3 your product would be 27. 2+7 = 9) Subtract 5 from your total. Remember this number. Now think of the leters of the alphabet. If A=1, B=2, etc; think of the letter relating to your final figure. Now think of a country beginning with that letter. Now concentrate on the second letter of your country's name. Think of an animal beginning with that letter. Got one? Hey, there are no elephants in Denmark!
  11. But what do they call the devices under the helmets? And what is their purpose?
  12. Alan Sounds like we should have a game together.....we'd double the chances of locating our lost balls. Of course, there are better ways to lose your balls once you get to Pty. Ash
  13. When should they start worrying?
  14. It doesn't seem to mention the hazard to brownshirts form errant golf balls. If they saw my duff hook they'd think twice about wandering out on their range!
