And, the lady on the left used to be a hostess at FLB. She worked in a bar near Palmer's (possibly Sue's Place) before that.

Mick, manager of Sweethearts, is retiring
MM replied to MeGoDanceNow's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
To get back on topic... Mick is a great guy, one of the best in the business, and I will drop by to wish him well in his retirement to the village up north. Hes really looking forward to it, and unlike many (including me), he likes village life. Best of luck to the fellow. Out with the old, in with the new...the new manager is a younger fellow named Jason, who used to run Horn Bar on Soi Happy. I had to work hard to get him to shake my hand. He's a strong one, and maybe that will be the last handshake I solicit from him. He's got big shoes to fill, and I wish him luck. The times they are a changin'. -

I was just talking to Mick himself and he said he didn't know what day Ali Saints Day was either LOL. I asked if I could quote him, and he said "yeah, sure!".. From mobile phone. -
I'm going to disqualify that answer as being beyond the realm of believability. So, we're still on Aguirre, Wrath of God From mobile phone.

Everybody is proven untrue by my uncertainty about the date. I count myself as a (small) part of "everybody"...so therefore, I must say your statement is false.Q.E.D. From mobile phone. -

Just so those who don't follow the Christian calendar know, All Saints Day is Nov 1 (I had to look it up). -
I actually think not knowing the name of the restaurant added entertainment value to the thread! It's easier to solve than those Triangle Bar puzzlers. Anyway, in spite of the remaining mystery, I will give Le Strogonoff a try and report back. You've piqued my interest.

I'm going to try once again to confirm the restaurant name with you as I did in an earlier post. This time, I am going to give you more memory joggers, so perhaps then you can confirm or deny that this was the restaurant. The name is Le Strogonoff. It is on SOI 4 Pratumnak. It has the following writeup on Tripadvisor, where the 4 course meal is said to be about 320 baht (not 230 baht). http://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Restaurant_Review-g293919-d2027214-Reviews-Le_Strogonoff-Pattaya_Chonburi_Province.html#REVIEWS The Google maps street view picture of the restaurant follows. Is this the place? It sure looks like it from your description. I've always wondered if I should give it a try, and from the reviews and your description, I believe I will very soon (thanks wobbly for the recommendation as well).

40 good reasons why I won't be following England in the World Cup ...

I've never heard that complaint before. I'm quite satisfied to leave the thread to show what kind of reply can fuck it up for all of us. If you have a problem, go to the source. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk -

Yep. I think CT was correct in removing the pictures. Why put up with snide remarks from someone when you are trying to add some entertainment. -
Okay...two things. (1) I find it incredibly hard to believe you remembered that, though you may have the DVD, in which case he/she would have been credited. There is nothing I could find with a quick search (albeit not exhaustive) that shows a picture or any biographical detail on this person. So, pray tell, how did you remember this person? and (2) if that is a bona fide non-internet search answer, then this thread is dead, because I looked up that actor, and Aguirre Wrath of God is the only movie where he/she has been credited as an actor/actress. I'd hate to see this thread closed over a misunderstanding of the rules.

Yes, yes, but where the fuck is it and what's it called? Have you checked google maps or street maps to see if you can recall? Was it up Pratumnak Hill, past the park? I'm thinking perhaps it was Le Strogonoff at Soi 4 Pratumnak. Street view is here

[serious] All very well and good that mispronunciation runs rampant in the home of the language, but you also produce something called the Oxford English Dictionary that contains standard pronunciation. I don't have a copy at hand, but I suspect that "eat" and "heat" are shown with different pronunciations, as are "bus" and "buzz". I will grant you all that regional/local speaking styles depart from this standard, similar to Boston and New York borough variations, but those are not enshrined in the OED or found in books on English as a foreign language. [/serious] Note, the quoted passages have been thoroughly searched for any smilies that might have indicated irony or sarcasm.
