I'm in the process of having major dental work done with German Dental at this very time. They are not cheap, but their lab work is excellent and the turnaround time on crowns and bridges is fantastically fast. I was not impressed with the "bedside" manner of the dentists and assistants (nobody held my hand when I cried), but they were very efficient and professional. On further reflection, English fish and chips travels well and is something English that can be found outside of England. .. and eaten by non English. Regarding Indian food in the USA, I was basing my claim of authenticity on restaurants found in Berkeley, near the University. A meal in one of those leaves your ass burning the next day. Many Chinese Hunan and Szechuan style restaurants can be found in San Francisco as well. Sure, there are Americanized establishments that are not authentic, but the authentic ones can be found in the cosmopolitan cities. I've lived and visited all over Europe and the Americas. The "foreign" food that travels best is, to name a few, French, Italian, Mexican, German, even Irish stew. Very few places seIl meat pies, pig pudding, oatcakes, or grilled tomato sandwiches. English food is not popular except among English. I suspect even the English are learning to appreciate other nations' food now in the more cosmopolitan areas of your country. They have tweaked the lights at 3rd Road underpass and Thappraya so that there is a long backup on Thappraya now...even preventing traffic from taking the left lane to get over to Walking Street. I sat through 2 lights (on a motorcycle) trying to get to the U turn spot before the lights, and what I saw was complete chaos. The cycle seemed to be about 2-3 minutes for the lights to do a complete cycle. When they turned green for the northbound traffic, the green light lasted 8-10 seconds, about 4 seconds of which was taken by southbound traffic (from 2nd Road) continuing through the red light. This left about 4-6 seconds for any cars waiting to turn right onto 3rd or left over to Pratumnak...and then RED! Meanwhile, all entrances to the intersection were waiting, watching an empty intersection with no traffic. They've screwed up the lights that are now going up and down Pratumnak at the underpass as well. Most motorcycles are just going thru the red lights rather than watching an empty intersection waiting for a green light. I wonder if anyone does any kind of review of these light durations or do they just set them and walk away?
