The storm last night and tonight did not manage to jump the curb and flood the bars on Walking Street as they did last year in September. Then again, the main storm hasn't arrived yet. Tonight was quite mild, BTW.

I've heard on the Thai news, and a weather site, that the tropical storm is just reaching the eastern coast of Vietnam today, and should arrive in Thailand's eastern regions on Monday. So, more to come.

Yes, lots of bikes got water damage when parked on some of the more flooded roads. The baht busses rolled by, throwing up wakes, and then bikes just fell over into the water. On the same topic, here is a video taken just as the storm was starting...maybe 20 minutes into it, and the rain was quite heavy. If you saw the video in post #1, you'll see the rain had let up, but the flooding was getting worse, due to the runoff from inland moving to the seaside areas (Walking St and Beach Road).

There was a serious storm last night that overwhelmed the drainage systems all over Pattaya...Walking Street got some flooding, as did other areas that are ususally prone to flooding. I have pics and videos from Walking Street, but I didn't venture far because I didn't want to get wet. If you have any other areas you got photos or video of, please post them in this thread.

I've been meaning to give Neeroy's a try. For my preference, I prefer Chow Soy to Gooses, Jolly Friar or Punch and Judy...all of which I have tried and failed to enjoy. The quality at Chow Soy does vary a bit too much. I've been disappointed there on occasion, but still go back hoping for a good one.

If you had to pay 310b for the meal, what was the benefit of the Freeplayo points? Did you have a companion and get a free meal or what? Also, I am always at a loss in an Indian restaurant, though I love the food if I can see what it looks like before ordering. As to the 4 sauce dishes, I don't know what to put them on...whether they are sauces, soups, or water to clean my hands. Yes, I'm pretty ignorant of Indian food.

It's kind of a boring street compared to many in Pattaya, but it does have a lot more Thai entertainment venues than most. This place, Rong Park, is someplace I've been wanting to go some night...it's a Thai nightclub with live music that looks pretty popular.
