I have noticed that the period from Dec 1 to Dec 15 is extremely quiet. You can probably get a room anywhere...it's the pause before the storm which starts building up to a crescendo a little over two weeks later with New Year's Eve. Get in early, get your room settled, and watch the build up.

As you enter the Golf Club, try to get one of the the outside tables to the right..otherwise, you only get food and not a perv. The BBQ is top notch...really very good, and if I were closer to the place, I'd go at least once a week. I can't disagree with you on the subject of golfers (Sorry, doghaus).
