That logic doesn't hold for USA vis a vis China. China has 4 times the population, why aren't they ahead of USA by several multiples then? If you want to go on medals per capita, as Idefix pointed out, NZ takes that prize. GB is doing well, no question they have outperformed the rest of the world, except for 2 nations. I should think that would be enough without the additional spin to make it anything more than what it is.

I doubt they will be closing.

It would be rather expensive for the few like you who would contribute. I'm not pleading poverty...just frustrated that sometimes shit happens and time, which is my most valuable commodity, has to be expended on it. Well, I also don't like paying for someone to fix their own bugs too.

I would miss it too...in fact, I missed reading everyone's posts today...and I thought about all the things that people might have wanted to say here, but couldn't, because the site was down. By the way, if anyone is curious about an outage on this site, there is always status information on Facebook under the user name FLB Bar.

Well, what happened was that I upgraded something called PLESK, a control panel to run the server. It was a security hole in the version that was running that allowed the malware virus insertion a month ago. At that time, I contacted my web host company and asked them to upgrade this product, since it came with their server product. They didn't respond for a month. My server and many others are part of a purchase of another company (Fastservers) by a larger company (Layeredtech), so I think we are the unwanted orphans, and they have just ignored any requests I have made as a matter of policy. Given that there were no gogos or night life today, I decided to upgrade the PLESK software. Unfortunately, when the new version came up, it had a totally new interface and "paradigm" that required "transitioning" from the old format to the new. I tried that, and still no web sites came up. I spent a hard day sitting in front of the keyboard, when I could have been out seeing a movie and going to the beach or whatever, but nothing I did made any difference, and I realized, if I kept picking at it, it would just get worse to untangle. Around 6pm tonight, I decided to open a paid incident with the PLESK site...though I am not even technically a customer (the host server company is). They took my money and said they'd look at it. It turned out to be a bug in their software at the version I had upgraded to. It had nothing to do with configuration changes or paradigm changes that I was focusing on.After about 6 hours, they resolved the problem and the sites (including this one) came up again. I was seriously thinking about just running ads on addicts and posting over there. Seems it's been a big success for Insomnia, Babydolls, and Sapphire It's been fun, and I sure hope you guys appreciate what a bother this site can be sometimes... I have all this grief, AND I have to pay for it

A very complex series of events and decisions led to a complete fuck up that required paid assistance from a software provider. Hopefully, clear sailing from now, since the point of this whole exercise (which at times yesterday and today, I nearly forgot) was to shore up the security on the website. That has been accomplished....I think.

She'd fit right in there, and would really be useful at throwing those pesky customers into the street.
