Appears the LK Metropole reservations people were planning to ask me whether a reservation was being made by a pattayatalk member, but they have yet to do that. I assume they are still taking reservations for that rate.

To those of you making reservations with the LK Metropole, using the FLB rate request, please inlclude your pattayatalk user name in your email. The reservations desk is getting so many requests, they are concerned non-members are using the rate. So, from today on, they will be asking me if the user name is a valid member name on the board. I'll also be providing a free drink at FLB coupon with your reservation (haven't printed them up yet, but they will be coming soon).

You can add Lennies, Soi Diamond, Bob's Burgers, 3rd Road, FLB, Walking St to that list as well.

Correct Thai pronunciation is pa-ta-YAA with strong emphasis and longer duration on the last syllable. Most westerners either say pa-TAI-ya or PA-ta-ya. Where the CAP indicate the emphasised syllable. As in all things, it's up to you, and nobody will (or should) correct you. They've heard them all.

All rooms have in room ADSL now. There is a central router, but I don't think it will prevent VPN usage (I don't use VPN so I cannot guarantee). If there is a problem, the IT guy is pretty reasonable about unblocking ports. You do have to log in to their security (e.g. timing for money) interface, but it will stay logged in until you log out (or your time expires). Don't work too hard.

Secrets is a hotel and bar and restaurant within the Walking St area, and as such, deserves to be reviewed and discussed as is any other venue in Pattaya. The discussion should be first hand experience ideally, and not rumors and/or innuendo. The personalities of the owners or their legal work status, or their real names, are not really relevant to that discussion. Please keep this topic informational regarding the business itself.

I moved some money over to buy a condo and changed my mind (or haven't used it yet for that purpose). I assume, but possibly incorrectly, that you are entitled to take whatever you get into the country for a condo purchase out of the country. Your best bet for a definitive answer is the Thai Visa forum. They have all the legal minds over there.

FYI, you put the event in the MEMBER's calendar rather than the Party/Event calendar. As a business owner, you can update the Party/Event calendar which is a lot easier to read when looking for party events. It's accessed by a drop down list box at the bottom of the calendar page. I hope that's clear

I was aware of that option, but I thought that was a bit brutal.

I am moving this topic to the Technical Issues forum. Also, I have changed a board setting so that you cannot be logged onto the forum from more than one computer at a time. So, if someone clicks the REMEMBER ME button when they log in (against the recommendation of the board when using a public computer, i.e. at an internet cafe), when they log in elsewhere, the prior login will not work. It's the best I can do, as far as I know, without removing the REMEMBER ME option altogether, and forcing everyone to log in every time they come to the forum.

Forced logout is not a feature of the forum software, as far as I know. The problem is that if the user clicks REMEMBER ME (thus saving the cookie and login information), the next time you come to the page, you are logged in automatically.
