  1. It's hazy with intermittent blue skies then.Nothing short of rain will deter them.
  2. The in-laws are looking outside and planning to go to the beach. Sunny skies.
  3. I'm getting in touch with my silly moods

  4. Hmm. This Invision guy is asking some dumb questions. Tapatalk was logging me in with the wrong ID lately.
  5. Not yet...the weather warning was the 26-30th, so we still have one more day for the prediction to occur. It did drizzle a bit this afternoon and the skies were grey, so the blue skies and sunny weather have gone for now.
  6. Yes, now it's probably going to be the storm of the century.
  7. Yeah, this whole big storm coming has been a bust...the weather has been great. I won't be posting any more weather reports :
  8. I do believe the weatherman might have been wrong...however, the prediction was a storm between the 26-30th, so there's another 2 days to wait. Had a bit of rain this morning as mentioned above, but nothing like a major storm.
  9. Leave it! If you want to start a topic about where to live, go ahead, but this arguing is silly.
  10. Current weather radar showing storm just south of Pattaya, hitting Rayong and Trat hardest...storm clouds to the east, but the radar shows a more complete picture I think... You can follow the progress at http://www.accuweather.com/en/th/national/satellite
  11. Beware the Virtual Credit Card when making airline reservations. I couldn't produce the card at check-in when flying with Thai Air and went through about 30 minutes of trying to explain to them about virtual cards not being physically visible. As my flight was getting ready to board, I gave up, went across to another ticket counter and bought a ticket for cash. After 6 weeks, and several phone calls, I did get a refund on my original ticket. Also, I don't know about you, but my virtual card has a limit of only 100,000 baht, which is less than $3000 USD. Since I got the virtual c
  12. Today's report is that the sky is totally blue, the sun is shining...I haven't seen such a good weather day in ages...not one cloud in the sky from where I sit. If something's coming, it's still a ways off.

  14. Wish they'd do something about the street performers. We wouldn't need the sidewalks if they weren't causing congestion in the street.
  15. Well well. Somebody is attacking the issue of public space usage by businesses and vendors. This article is pretty funny on the subject. From http://www.khaosodenglish.com/detail.php?newsid=1443087003
  16. Well, with a bar cam, you have periods of idleness and no customers. FLB has had a cam in the bar for a decade now, and we've shown empty, quiet, not quiet, and busy periods. It's just the way things are. If you recall, the website pattayalive was started with the idea of putting webcams in many bars (and charging them for it, I suspect). The "live" in the name was a reference to "live cams". Noi's bar kept the cam operating during good and bad times, but the Rockhouse pulled out supposedly due to technical problems (which could have been solved in a heartbeat by anyone who really
  17. Butch, the FLB cam is only on when the bar is open. It does have it's ups and downs, but when ustream.tv (which is the streaming site) is working, it works well. These cams that are now around are great though, since they are on 24 hours and seem quite reliable. The FLB cam can be accessed directly on ustream.tv via the link http://www.ustream.tv/channel/view-inside . That bypasses the screen with the embedded chat/video together. The view is only from the inside of the bar looking out to the front of the bar on Walking Street.
  18. Yes, it would help. Some places that I would recommend are Pu Pen in Jomtien Mum Aroi in Naklua though it is somewhat overrun with tour bus groups. Try it and see. And, of course, you could try the places on Walking Street beach side (Nang Nual etc), though they tend to be overpriced and touristy. This should take you to a listing of seafood restaurants in Pattaya on Tripadvisor. Caveat emptor with some of the ratings.
  19. I was at Sugarbaby gogo on Walking Street last night, and misteregg kindly put on the 49ers Steelers game on their big screen tvs. I managed to watch a lot of the game through the legs of the dancers. I finally realized I should have been watching over the jacuzzi, because the screen was higher. Unfortunately, the game left me so depressed I drank myself into a stupor.
  20. That's more improved than I thought it would be. Great.
  21. Now, more than ever, with the loss of the RG advertising revenue, the Agoda link becomes this forums ONLY source of revenue. Please use our link if you are planning travel and Agoda rates are satisfactory to you.
  22. As many of you know, FLB and Pattayatalk/Pattayapages have received long-standing support from our partnership with the Residence Garden. As of the end of this month (Sept 2015), Residence Garden will no longer be offering the special rate to new customers. If you are an existing customer who has received that special rate, I have been told it will be given to you if you ask for it, but any new customers will not be able to avail themselves of that rate. I want to thank Ib and Alan Ottesen of the RG for their support these many years. I know many customers have stayed at RG over t
