  1. Several Facebook users have been updating a restaurant map for Pattaya City area. You can find it at https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=zxcFzB698YEg.kbhItz0iYtTM Using this map, you can find many of the restaurants reviewed here. If you are on Facebook, you can view (and join) the Group "Pattaya Restaurants" to find reviews of most of the restaurants on this map. Here is the map displayed in this post
  2. Now he's "mister Party" formerly known as misteregg... I'll be there, misterX, barring unforeseen plan changes. I just hope it doesn't FLOOD hehe.
  3. Going by the poster's historical record, I doubt that.
  4. Yes, but why should you have to guess due to some puerile term? Exactly, though even if he were a complete stranger, he could look it up easily. Oh, based on Odense's guess, the reservoir has been reported to be filling up nicely, though I have not seen it personally.
  5. I have the impression from others' stories that Rutnin is the best for eye treatments. Good you made the extra effort and went to Bangkok rather than Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. You might have saved some money too
  6. You're gonna have to try harder to make that intelligible.
  7. This video is probably the scariest I've seen...I think this is also Soi Khao Noi on the darkside...note the people being swept down the road in the rapid raging waters.
  8. This video appeared in the Bangkok Post Facebook page today. It is raging water on Soi Khao Noi (darkside).... I saw another video where there were actually people caught in this water and being washed down the road... How fast do you think this water was moving?
  9. Don't know if you can view this video or not, but it shows just how fast the water is moving in some sois. https://www.facebook.com/welovedann/videos/1644054742532657/
  10. There was a tremendous storm 4 years and 6 days ago...starting on 9/11 and continuing into the 12th. http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/56292-myras-birthday-and-then-the-deluge/?hl=rain This one the past day has lasted longer and been more steady with periods of torrential downpours, so it might qualify as the worst. The metric will be how many bars on the sea side of Walking Street get flooded inside. In the 2011 storm, at least a half dozen gogos and indoor bars (including FLB) were flooded.
  11. That's a real nag they're riding. You'd think they'd find a better horse for Putin. Nice Photoshop.
  12. Hehe. Reminds me of the good old days when I first got here, and had a retirement visa as well as a work permit. I carried on like that for 3 years before the fat gay guy at immigration noticed my passport had a notation that I had a work permit on the last page. This was after he had stamped my extension and was about to send me on to the next station. He then crossed out my extension, which left me 7 days to leave the country and obtain a proper visa for which I had to reapply for my work permit.
  13. So, if I hadn't had the work permit, I'd have had to leave the country every 3 months? Interesting.
  14. I had a non-imm B visa when I had my work permit, and didn't have to leave every 90 days as the extension was good for 1 year.
  15. It's probably somewhere close to the center of this map link https://goo.gl/uh1PSF Possibly the street to the left of the one that says 12/2 (Khao Talo Soi 12/2 in Thai) You'll spend much more than the cost of an expensive bowl of noodles just getting there, since it's well on the "darkside".
  16. I don't understand the point of a visa run for someone with a multi non-O. Is there some class of non-O that requires leaving the country periodically?
  17. The Saxon Tales covers the era of Alfred the Great, Edward, his son, and Aethelstan, his grandson. England as we know it was first unified under Aethalstan in 927 in the 10th century. As to who the "real" English are, well, it's a mess. England is a nation of migrations and subsequent conquest by Romans, Angles, Jutes, Saxons, Vikings (Danes and "Norsemen"), French-speaking Norsemen. I believe Wales still has the purest native population, but that is just an impression. Seems everybody wants to be English again, and a new invasion has begun.
  18. I mentioned a while ago that I was reading the Saxon Tales. I'm just finishing book 8, The Empty Throne, tonight. It's been a long and exciting journey, from the childhood of Uhtred of Bebbanburg to his being an old man of over 50 years. This series covers the formation of the nation called "Englaland" (later known as England) from the four kingdoms of Wessex, Mercia, Anglia, and Northumbria. Read this story and tell me, who are the real English.
  19. What a mess! Thanks for the update!
  20. It's a paradoxical situation. In order to work in a bar/gogo/entertainment venue, the girl has to be 18+, but in order to enter a similar venue as a customer, they must be 20+. It really makes no sense at all. Consider that if you go to a gogo and barfine a 19yo girl (during which time she is free to drink alcohol), then you take her to another bar as a customer. The police come and check ids, finding she is under 20. The bar is in trouble and so is the girl. Logical? Nah.

  22. I'd have given you a LIKE or green if available. That's funny.
  23. Naming the domain namstaxipattaya sort of gives away the world epicenter for P4P information.
  24. That may be, but reality is that many bars are doing the same and are being ignored, but I'd venture to say they are more careful about the ages of their clientele which is the big push right now (school drinking, underage drinking etc).
