Tee lack Thanks a million for the original post. I just arrived today at 1,30 and not had a proper trim since MBK Bangkok last January. Yes I'm real mean and have my own clippers at home. Not that I'm very good but I have to at least keep the beard Under control. Well, in Aus the charge about $18 for a trim, then another 18 for the beard! So I thought your lady was wonderful for $6. Plus as you say she's lovely and Im now even lovelier after her service Regards papadooc

Hi BL I occaisionaly pop into (and in) the SOL. But didnot make it since 2 years. But I believe it is still the same. I'l first say it was never my kind of place. I like the privacy of Lolitas BKK and PTY. However, I would read so much positive about the place on the boards and what fun the girls were that I started haveing a drink and chat there. Then about 5 years ago I was in there with just one girl and myself and recieved some good service. Next time in there was completly different with BJs and fornication going on all around me!! So all this happens in the tiny bar area. I made a choice and got serviced behind the bathroom door. So I now I usually visit each trip (yearly) and its fun. I still prefer lolita's and I have to say. Nothing will ever compare with the wonderful Sophies in its day... regards papadoc Sorry I edit as I didn't answer all your questions drinks reasonable I usually drink Brandy or coffee. The women vary in looks but have great attitude and fun and yes you can just chill out as thats how I started going there. There are a couple of others in the aria but may be ripoff joints. But SOL is OK

Didn't use the airport. I picked up an Avis car from Downtown (Wireless RD near Plonchit). (26 JAN 2011) I drove out of Bangkok down to Hua Hin for a few days. From there I drove right across to Pattaya and finaly returned my car to Bangkok. Used their GPS which was great finding my hotels and everything else. No search function for nookie but didn't need it. Good luck papadoc

Hi Ronko63 I stayed there for three nights and want to give a fair comment. It's Ok not to my usual standard and the best rooms (penthouse) have fair facilities DVD TV fan A/C etc and a great view of SOI 6.... Not a bad restaurant and had some nice breakfasts there. But you must be warned that you have some four nasty flights of stairs to climb and no lifts. Have a look at the website all rates seasons etc are there http://www.queenvictoria-inn.com/ hope that helps Papadoc

Curly I stayed at Sabai New wing a couple of years ago and was very happy there. Then I tried The Victoria Inn Soi 6. Good local of course Soi 6, breakfasts etc. and Big C etc. But was no where near the standard of room, service and comfort. And the F* stairs for the penthouse rooms!!! I then moved down to Areca Lodge. Really love this place. I like the area, Soi Diane and LK Metro etc. I find it great to walk to 2nd Road at Mikes Dept Store. Then easy Baht Bus to Big C /Soi six. Jump off Baht bus on Beach road to cut through Mikes. Easy walk Sois 7/8 and Walking street. Soi Bahkau (spell) Like other BMs After nearly every meal I like to walk. I would often go B Bus to big C. Walk Beach road to walking Street and back to Soi Diana. Occasionaly diverting off the track for distractions. Very pleased with Areca Lodge, back there again next week and 18 Jan after Cambodia and Bangkok. website is www.arecalodge.com I usually pay BHT 1690 de luxe High season but will try the executive room 2590 in Jan as De Lux full. All this is much cheaper in February It's not quite your area but hope this helps regards Papadoc

colinS, I am arriving Pattaya on 4 Jan 2007. I have been a few times to Cambodia, (and it's great). I know Phnom Penh fairly well aftera few visits. I have never been to Sinhoukville which is a sea port in the south of Cambodia. My plan is to leave Pattaya on 6 Jan and cross the boarder at Trat and then to Koh Khong. Then Sinhoukville. I hope to leave Snooky for Phnom Penh on the 9th Jan. I have done much research on this journey. Up to you but thouigh Veitnam would be interesting if you want a really wild time come to Canbodia. PS I will stay Phnom Penh 'til 16 Jan when I will fly back to BKK for 2 nights and then back to Pattaya for a week. I have been visiting BKK and Pattaya for thirty one years Please let me know if you are interested in sharing part or all of the Cambodian trip I tried to PM (Send you a private message but not possible till you join the board) You can PM me. Lets talk regards Papadoc

I just checked on the Thai website see this link and it seems to be an Airbus A340 The seating is 2x2x2 in Business 2x3x2 premium economy and 2x4x2 economy. http://www.thaiairways.com/Travel_Destinat...aps/A3452_l.htm Your heading mentioned 'first class' but it seems from this info that they dont configure these flights with first class on this run. Same for me out of Brisbane (no first class). For Asia I travel economy and will use FF points/ or pay to upgrade to business on the return run. For Europe its business Brisbane Bangkok Brisbane and First BBK London BBK. As they don' have first out of Brisbane. IS it worth it? Well I've got sick of economy specially to Europe so I don't go so often now. but travel Business and First class. What is it: Its everything really, from the moment you check in. The lounges, access to newspapers food and drink, internet and comfortable lounges. Extra baggage and priority handling. On arrival to be escorted one on one through customs and immigration. Without that dread of - hell I have a 12 hour flight to... I never think that now. I just check in and go with the gentle flow. I'm in comfort with my Dom Perignon, cray fish, steaks, toast, fine cuisine etc. In fact my last three trips to UK I've not bothered with the movie. Whereas in the 'old days' one craved the movie or a meal to pass the time. Like I say instead of 1 or 2 trips to asia a year and Eorope about one every 18 months. I now do Asia once a year and Europe evrey 2 to 3 years as my fares are so much more. I have to dissagree with Shuggy there. Because the 777 and MD11 don't have first class configuration I am very happy to see the big beautifull 747 and know that we have that very broard roomy loung up in the sharp end. I assure you I am not wealthy, its just a case of priorities at the time. Regards Papadoc PS . Sorry I see this looks like a commercial for Thai airways. Honestly it's just my opinion and they have some great fares out of Aus.
