Sterling was up around 40.20 late last night at TT.... Should be around that this morning. Dollar/Baht interbank just edged up past 31 again

Without doubt Butch tremendous value. As per post couple bottles of bleach would sort the bathroom. Install a router for Wifi around pool. Mend the broken tiles. Ask the male staff to at least smile on occasions lol. 4 massive improvements there for absolutely pennies The standard rooms are a massive result at around 490 Baht make no mistake The location alone is worth couple hundred baht I'd say -
Bit of a pasting today for sure. Baht gained against USD and Sterling dropped against USD a recipe for heading south. Just seen 40.50 under Atlantic bar and thats higher than it should be as well.

At time of post Baht weakening again against the Greenback....gone out to 31.24 interbank (only last half hour though) Sterling now 41.16 interbank....

I should have said in OP you need to register on their website because it gives an additional 10% off using hotels own website on top of the 3 nights for 2 offers If you register you'll see the additional black rectangular box with "member promotion" Screenshot is todays price for 3 nights in Deluxe so 638 Baht a night -
Primarily because the Baht was weakening against the USD albeit on Friday Sterling was up slightly against the USD in addition. Double whammy in favour of Brits for once
-
If Sterling/Dollar stayed static at $1.32 we'd need Dollar/Baht to weaken out to 32.6 which I also agree is quite possible..... Make no mistake this coronavirus is not going to die down anytime soon. BA for example have taken all flight bookings to China off the system till April now apparently

Friend had recommended the pricing of the Eastiny Group of hotels and on that front he was perfectly correct. If you book use Hotels own website and prices are very cheap to say the least. There are 4 types of room and even the 76 SM Suites only run around 950 a night and I had the deluxe room which was the next highest price at 628 Baht a night if you book in multiples of 3 nights. We were paying these sort of rates 20 years ago plus. There the recommendation ends though. There are so many niggles that with a bit of effort could be sorted. Bizarrely Indians who I thought would be an issue were not. Didnt see any at all which was suprising No wifi around Pool area. Broken tiles. What I assumed was the pool pump/filtration was quite loud to say the least...No Room service or coffee shop... Surly staff males who you'd cross the road to avoid. No room safes in fact the 1st night I couldnt even have a box at reception as all full. The place is "grubby" the bathroom is pretty shocking and yet couple bottles of bleach would rectify it. The shower curtain is filthy to say the least. No Bum guns.... Whilst it cant be blamed on the hotel the most miserable guests are here. Little bit of bar noise but it wouldnt annoy 99% Location wise obviously 9/10 with all facilities from Laundry 7/11 Exchange booths literally within metres. Would I stay again. Probably not but wouldnt rule it out entirely. The standard rooms frankly dont look much different to mine (slightly smaller) but at 490 Baht a night a real bargain If you looking at longer term stays I'd actually go over to Bellavista in the cut thro between 7 and 8 (same group) where superior rooms are around 380 Baht a night. A full service hotel for less than 12,000 a month is a pretty good result However you get what you pay for and it was pretty damning when the cleaner said "you change hotel"....clearly it must happen quite often. Shame because bit of effort could upgrade the place at little cost

I can see from my trading platforms where traders on Dollar/Baht have positioned themselves.....We've got over 83% "shorting" the Baht (meaning they want it to weaken)...stand on me thats a very high percentage. "Trading Chatter" suggests Dollar/Baht will open around 31.40 late tonight. We'll see but I wouldnt be surprised at further weakness
-
Lol always known that location as ambush alley bints coming from all directions

Because every currency sets its benchmark against the USD....If the Baht weakens against the Greenback than Sterling, Euro, AUD etc etc etc will automatically rise Two currency pairings make up the bottom line. For Brits (Sterling/Dollar) x (Dollar/Baht) produces the bottom line. For Euro users you'd substitute Euro/Dollar in first pairing and so on.....movement in either pairing effects the bottom line number crunch. Only the worlds "reserve" currency the USD has a direct exchange rate against every other currency

Sterling was 40.61 last night In Soi 8 exchange Interbank currently 40.76 so I'd imagine TT etc will open around last nights figure Edited...40.58 TT

Hellfire now out to 31.26

This coronovirus is doing the damage to the Baht make no mistake. The lack of Chinese at immigration was staggering Tuesday
-
Yep it has lol....Interbank/Transferwise 40.45 Dollar/Baht 31.06
-
Still dropping Dollar/Baht currently 31.04 Interbank Long may it continue.... Sterling/Baht on the ground is 40.22 at TT currently
-
Both flights absolutely rammed. No spare seats. Check in Girl at Heathrow when I asked about load said overbooked 7 pax London Muscat Bit of a surprise whilst landing. Came off airbridge (was sat at front of plane for a change) and thought thats unusual signage for immigration which was because it was right in front of me lol. Literally 20 metres to the slope. Second surprise was the lack people. Really noticeable few Chinese (group tour cancellations kicking in I guess) I was actually already on carousel when first bags arrived. From off plane to walking out with bags 10 minutes tops. Makes a pleasant change Bit surprised because we were stacked up for 30 minutes as well

Almost certainly having an effect Interbank 30.83 at time of post Dollar/Baht

This is just pure Gold. Thought better follow agents advice and check in anyway. NOW its allowed me to pick aisle seat FOC and automatically allocated a window seat FOC on the 2nd lol which is actually showing premium pricing only..... WTF is going on here lol
-
This is what happens when in the early days of myself and colleague using they used to run maybe 50% capacity and less most of the time. Built the client base up now and choca every flight and they have carte blance to gouge further monies out of passengers. Well this one is walking...

This is the last time I'm flying with these jokers. From fabulous early experiences of first using them in 2013 they have slowly gone downhill as each year as gone by for a myriad of reasons. Their online check in has been particulary difficult this last 2 years since they "opened" their 48 hour check in as opposed to previously 24 hours. Complaint from myself and 100's of others clearly hit home over not being able to select 2nd sector seat at the 48 hour mark but they've gone one better now Went to check in at 48 hour mark last night. Strange every seat was now premium not just exit seats the entire lot. Thought well maybe another glitch with these jokers will leave to now Sunday morning. Go back in again and see exactly the same. Thinking FFS I'll ring them I did. Wait for it. Now the 2 lowest classes of economy seat which covers every single seat sold via agents for sure plus "supersaver" and "saver" fares from their own Oman website can no longer pick any seat in advance without paying. You want the worst seat in the middle of the three you still pay lol....out of principle I'm not paying its just out and out gouging FFS. He went on to say click through the seating options and whatever seats are left are assigned at T4 when you check in. Seriously unamused
