  1. It was an article that I sent to friend of mine last night....it was from Daily Mail but origin was from Australia Vast majority will go tits up by start of May....the capital overheads of aircraft repayments will bankrupt virtually every airline and at least 40% are already trading insolvently... Am on mobile as problem with laptop charger....if I get the laptop back up and running later will link it in
  2. Eva always were the worst of the worst when it came to customer service
  3. One of the BMs here used them for a flight in 2008 London Bangkok (think it was Qatar) turned up at Heathrow and the flight simply didnt exist As far as I know he never got his money back (will ask him later) and had to buy new flight I used them probably 25 times mid 90's to early noughties but as Torranova says they didnt move with the times
  4. Trump has banned all European visitors for 30 days except Brits. Airlines being savaged now
  5. No idea why my post #5 has a confused emoji Paragraph 6 is from here from EPs link yesterday https://www.tatnews.org/2020/03/tat-update-notification-of-the-civil-aviation-authority-of-thailand-on-covid-19-control-measures/
  6. At the moment you're ok in transit with Qatar but cant leave the airport not that you would anyway I dont think its going to be long though now that Thailand are billing the airlines for all associated costs of corona brought into the Country. Suspect they'll abort completely From yesterday ". Air operators shall be responsible for the expenses incurred relating to the isolation, quarantine, confinement for observation, and immunisation of the persons on board, including the expenses for the care, hospitalisation and prevention and control of international communicable diseases.
  7. No....the boarding card scan is VAT related. Stand on me UK Border force have a 101 things more important to intercept and deal with than an extra carton of cigs More to the point even if the boarding card scan was forwarded to Border force (it isnt) than they are no further forward. A name but no face to match it to automatically
  8. I've compared prices online (or as much as is possible online) as regards Baccy from Bahrain Muscat Dubai Abu Dhabi and Doha (very limited info there) Very similar across the board. Box of 10 x 50g Golden Virginia in Muscat worked out using Clarity card at £39.85 when hit my statement yesterday. Ludicrously cheap at £3.98 each compared to average £23 a pouch in the UK.....its no wonder many take their chances and thats not all I had rest assured Rothmans (not the King Size ones) I normally get using mileage but if you buy the twin pack from airport its £11.25 per carton 200 cigs
  9. Absolutely the motorbike driver did well but if I hadn't go on (as per normal) it couldnt have happened in the first place.
  10. Talking of motorbikes had a very very lucky escape Monday night. I simply "normally" never go on them prefering walking to the Baht Bus routes. Really tired leaving LK Metro and definately well oiled but not drunk. Normally I'd walk back down Soi Honey to 2nd rd than get BB up to Soi 2/3 area. Instead by Climax got on motorbike. Coming up past Klang junction heading along 2nd road baht bus decides its going to swerve right across. I saw it immediately and fair play to motobike driver as he he did to slamming on the anchors but still hitting the back step of the baht bus.... We'd slow
  11. Baht continues to weaken against the benchmark USD....right out to 31.84 interbank Sterling interbank right up to 41.40 now.....should be around 41.20 ish at TT
  12. Thai Baht tanking against the USD today.....right out to 31.65 interbank
  13. Jusr re quoted and now same dates in June dropped right down to normal £424 on Oman and £418 on Gulf....both those were over £630 previously
  14. Been noticeable when I checked several times for June trips traditionally one of the cheapest months along with May and they were a lot more expensive than normal
  15. There is some misinformation in that link I think. They certainly havent got 11 x A330's unless they've aquired 7 more in the last two weeks Inflight magazine shows 4 in total unless its not been updated
  16. I see one of their A330's (they only have 4) had emergency on Zurich to Muscat think it was Sunday oxygen masks deployed after depressurization An absolute certainty that I've been on that particular aircraft at some point as they used to use A330s on London Muscat Bangkok prior to starting delivery of their Dreamliners (shit in comparison I might add) https://simpleflying.com/oman-air-a330-diversion/
  17. Whether down to Coronavirus or not last nights London to Muscat flight was under 50% full
  18. Well I'd hazard a guess 9 out of 10 (at least) had no idea what NDTVI Pattaya is on a windy Friday
  19. Eastiny have dropped the 3 nights for 2 promotion if anyone is getting room rates nowhere near what I stated !
  20. Went by this place yesterday afternoon. Stack of workers rebuilding/re tiling etc etc. I didnt have phone with me for a photo but they had a placard up and will be running 2 for 1 offers. I noticed that included Vodka as well as Beers
  21. Baht starting to wobble again. Sterling rising off the back of it....
  22. Sterling was up around 40.20 late last night at TT.... Should be around that this morning. Dollar/Baht interbank just edged up past 31 again
  23. Just been past Soi 2 TT and that one was showing 40.02
  24. Without doubt Butch tremendous value. As per post couple bottles of bleach would sort the bathroom. Install a router for Wifi around pool. Mend the broken tiles. Ask the male staff to at least smile on occasions lol. 4 massive improvements there for absolutely pennies The standard rooms are a massive result at around 490 Baht make no mistake The location alone is worth couple hundred baht I'd say
