    Fish

Have a walk down walking street and check out the restaurants on both sides of the street. If you look closely there are fish awuariums with all sorts of fish from grouper to shark, to catfish, etc. Yes shark, on the left side of walking street towards the end... Shark is great grilled or fried just dont eat the skin, peel the skin off and the meat is sweet.... Red snapper is another one that you will see a lot on ice as well as pomfret which is great fried crisp with some hot basil sauce on it after or on the side if you want it to stay crispy.
  2. Jacko, I think you mistook his post......MNL is the letters for Manila, Philippines....
  3. That is expensive for a flight to Manila....I paid equivalent of $650 for Biz on PAL in January high season....Don't remember the agent in Pattaya...sorry about that. Thai does charge more for flights. But the thai lounge is used by both airlines...
  4. Wrasell, I do not recommend you grab a taxi from the arrival area outside. Let me explain why, first, some of these taxis may be Bangkok based, so they may not know where to go in Pattaya if you are headed that way. If you are going to Bangkok, that is another story. Secondly, if you walk out of the customs check area, there are two ways to go, LEFT would bring you to the arrival area with pre-arranged private taxis and hawkers trying to get a fare to wherever you are going. RIGHT, would bring you to a licensed taxi service, which is usually private cars that have insurance and bet
  5. I agree that the Sheraton is now THE BEST of Pattaya surpassing the old Royal Cliff and definitely the Marriott. My only complaint with the Sheraton is the fact that the beach does not have a water's edge for their beach. It is a sheer drop if you want to hit the water... I hope they spend the money and create a beach for families with children......
  6. Upena, I would not upgrade to First class but instead upgrade from Economy ot Biz class for the entire rountrip. The longer leg is always advisable to upgrade because this is where you need your rest for an overseas flight. Being able to rack up a buy one get one free is only good if you are going to make use of the other ticket with a friend, wife or whomever you choose. If not then the offer is not too tempting. I am in a similar predicament with so much hotel mileage to use it on Thai air or Asia miles(Cathay Pacific) I tend to like Cathay better than Thai unless they open up a di
  7. Blueeyes I am surpirsed that did not have more pics of the massage and manicure/pedicure girls in front of Royal Plaza. That was one of my favorite places to hang out at the beach for hours under an umbrella drinking coconut juice... Also enjoyed the crablets(eat everything shells and all) and stuffed shrimps the vedors offer....Yummmmmmmmmmmm good set of freelancers.....thanks blueeyes.....
  8. Jacklaw.........that sign means 30,000 baht per square meter as the m2 (meter squared symbol) figure on the 30,000 baht multiply that with your choice of 75.5 or 79.5 or 116 meters to get your condo price..... Blueeyes, I am liking these choices of women. As far as Big C or Royal Plaza.....hmmm.........I would pick Big C hands down over Royal Plaza and Carrefour.....just the prices, haggling, food and friendly people......
  9. Blueeyes you gotta be having tons of fun going around shooting pics all over Pattaya and in your loom.....
  10. Isn't the restaurant of Pete's wife right across XZyte disco too???.... I do recall a post of Martin and staff eating there......
  11. Sandy Springs is right on the corner of Beach Road and Soi 13/2
  12. Thanks blueeyes..........I am really missing LOS after that Big C pictorial....
  13. Big Chief......maybe if you grow up and talk decently instead of making fun you may be taken seriously.... Do you honestly think that board members will put up with that kind of hogwash each post........???
  14. Owen is right on.......all I can say is do not bring anything that customs can question or detain you........nuff said..........
  15. Two of your choices have good reviews. The Majestic grande is closest to Nana if that is what you want. The Davis is closest to Soi Cowboy. Either way, you can jump on a skytrain and be at the other within minutes...Up to you~!!!
  16. Sure there will be differences with tipping especially when you look at service or EXTRA service. My favorite thai massage/oil charges me 250 for two hours. I had two different girls work on me. The first one did an outstanding job for my oil massage and I tipped her 200 and told her to grab a bite to eat on me. The second day I went there she was not in and I was serviced by another masseuse, this time for a thai massage, 2 hours. Her massage was not good and I tipped her 80 baht which she was happy to receive. The first girl worked hard to please me and went over the alotted time
  17. Very good observation Stumpdog, I noticed that too......hmmmmm
  18. Makavelli, I have stayed at the Marriott both at Pattaya and Bangkok. For the Pattaya Marriott, I rate their rooms about an 8+. Good but not big enough for more than two people. The bathrooms a 6 as they are small, they do have a bathtub/shower combination. Cleanliness again 8-9, they do keep it spotless at least when I was there. For rooms with a view, ask for a pool view as this is considered a garden view but with better views out the balcony. If you like the Marriott for the location, then book a room, if you want better luxury, book the new Sheraton, but keep in min
  19. that cuite on the beach.......super nice.~!!!
  20. I do like these set of pics. Casual and lots of cuties having fun............
  21. With Sa-teef and Mont giving the thumbs up on Soi Buakhao area, don't you think that the veterans should show us newbies a bar crawl through the beauties of Eastern side of Pattaya??? I will definitely do a bar crawl in that area to check out the sights and sounds hopefully Sa-teef and Mont/Ellobo are available to give me a tour~!!!
  22. Dave I will be there for my usual Loy Kratong holiday hopefully by end of October into the end of November/December... Booked my hotel and just waiting on the right price for airline reservations which usually is better by September. A meet and greet is in order for you and lots of other BM's.....and there is usally a party or three during that time of year.....
  23. Martin, looking forward to hearing you new talent.....nice set of pics too.
  24. If you do get up before noon, there is one other breakfast place with similar "English" breakfast that I like too. The Irish pub on 2nd Road right after the Marriott. You can't miss it with a big parking lot and several scooters parked off the road.
  25. The Dusit is not guest friendly and will embarass you to pay their additional guest rate. Pass on this hotel unless you want to try their Saturday dinner buffet which is exceptional. Hard Rock has different views as far as guest policy. In my opinion, I would never stay in any hotel that charges me for bringing a woman to my room if I claim two people when I check in and pay for my room per day rates.
