Makavelli, I hope I can answer your questions... The room I stayed in April 2005 was a 2nd floor garden room...ask for a swimming pool view and it looks out into the swimming pool and bar...Nice view... The seaview is the wing facing the back of the hotel that faces beach road...I for one didn't want to pay extra when the pool view was nice anyway.. As far as where to stay, I chose a 2nd floor room on the wing that was right beside the mall...what was nice about this was I could bring a girl/girls back to my room from either the mall side entrance to the hotel or the back(Beach road)

My trick is to eat the first meal that is served usually a late dinner on the West Coast of US to South East Asia...then knock myself out with a good pill such as Lunestra(SP I think)...it helps you sleep soundly with no headaches when you wake up...It has worked and the jet lag is diminished considerably... Check with you doctor's for their advice and don't take it unless you are flying on international trips of length... One thing nice is I miss the crying of the babies, seeing people sleeping, being awakened for a lousy breakfast in flight...And I let the stewardess know...let me sleep un

From what I have read on this board the Dusit tries to rip off tourists with a "Joiner FEE"...I did stay at the Marriott and I was never charged a joiner fee. I did use the back entrance(Beach Road) and the side entrance(Mall) to get to my room bypassing the front desk a lot...Breakfast was in my room if the girl was with me, so no walk to shame... Any hotel that charges me a joiner fee will have me pack my bags instantly and move~!!! This is a rip off tactic, no one should ever accept...

My suggestion is for you to check out Chiang Mai...I am not aware of museums in Pattaya...Chiang Mai and other cities up North still have remnants of the bronze age beginnings...I believe there was a few pics of a museum in the members section...do a search...Also they have special hotel accomodations for 3 days/2 nites whcih are very reasonable... Pattaya, unfortunately for you...is a hobbyists destination...If you are looking for culture...you will really not find it here...The economy is fueled by the many hobby enthusiasts that come here and spend currencies from around the globe~!!!

Soi 7 I too have used Krongfa extensively on April of this year both in Bangkok and in Pattaya to and from Utapao, Don Muang and city trips. All I am saying is I dealt with one and only one taxi service and they treated me well and they were well compensated in return. It is difficult sometimes since I also needed a van due to having more than 3 people riding and they came through meeting my expectations. I will be using them again due to needing a van again this trip in two weeks. I will let you know.

I stayed here in April this year. No joiner fee and they do not mind you bringing in any bargirls. One thing is good that it is centrally located. If only the pricepoint would be lower this would make it the ideal hotel to stay in Pattaya.

Early Retirement or work another 5 years?
dotcom_OD replied to York's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Take a leave of absence...a sabbatical of sorts to sort out your depression from working your present job. I am sure a good doctor friend will assist you in doing a stress reliever vacation for your boss based on doctor's orders. After 6 months or a year,,,remember Family Medical Leave Act is real and LAW...your boss cannot fire you. Return a recharged man and continue working until your nest egg is sufficient to leave. Good luck!!! -
One good hotel in the same area of Sukhumvit, is the Omni tower hotel. Nana is just walking distance as well as the skytrain station.

I will be bringing with me two newbies to the LOS scene arriving via Eva Air from SFO to BKK November 1. Unfortunately we are sceduled to arrive at 2:00 AM on the 1st. But we will persevere and continue to Pattaya on the 2nd of November. I am making arrangements with a mini van for pick up and continuing off to Pattaya the following day with a day trip of sight seeing around Bangkok before proceeding to Pattaya. Anyone have similar arrivals or is continuing to Pattaya from the Sukhumvit area. Let me know.

Tengo, take a room in Bangkok for one evening. You really don't want to go to Pattaya at 1:30 AM do you? The driver and chances of beinng in trouble is heightened at nite. Stay in Sukhumvit for one nite then travel in the day, get a girl at NEP or Cowboy as this is still enough time to shag one!

I can say one thing about Siam Bayview...Joiner fee....This hotel is not guest friendly. -
1695 bht for the Areca is too high IMHO. I would look for another hotel before paying that much as this seems just pure rip off. Heck even the RG only charges 1350...See what I mean about price point!!!

Soi 7 you are right on the grades of beef. Unfortunately, even here in the US, choice and select grades are used by and large by most Steakhouses. Only the very high charging Steakhouses use USDA Prime w/ the marbling to prove it. Kobe on the other hand is another thing altogether. If it is Kobe or Matsuzaka Beef(this is from the city in japan) is beef that is fed only on grain and beer, then massaged daily to ensure the marbling of fat into the grain of meat. http://www.eprimecuts.com/shop.asp?sub=Wag...ef&src=overture http://www.kobe-beef.com/about.php Now as far as Pork is conce

Stevoman, Bulk mail is just that...mass mailing to anyone who is bored and wants to read them. There should be a 1800 DONT SPAM ME phone number. I do not read or open bulk mail as some may have some suspicious code or demon dialer which will latch on to your computer and can harm it with either a virus or a program. Stevo, if you are not sure who sent you the email or it is not directly in your INBOX, delete it and do not open it. Save your computer and yourself some heartache by not getting a virus/program. If you need any help with removing bots, pop up ads etc, let me know too and I

There are bank atm's just before walking street on Beach Road and several inside the Royal Garden Plaza mall beside the Marriott Hotel. As far as charges they all vary but the norm is usually anywhere from $.75-$1.50 per transaction. That is negligible since you are better paying transaction fee over exchange fee at the exhange windows. Also there are English options on the displays so don't worry.

Sunshine Vista Serviced Apartments

From a perspective of a business traveler, paying ahead can be a lot of trouble when you make a complaint about the hotel, or you are not satisfied with service or better yet, one of the maids decides to steal from you. This practice only holds true in LOS as they do not expect full payment in other cities unless you want a discounted rate in order to get a prepayment discount. Somehow, I am wary, but at the same time, you have to accept that this seems to be the norm lately in LOS due to many farangs ruining the internet reservation system. -
Gus, I too will be there in November and after deciding which hotels I will be staying at, I have sent enquiries to them. Sawadee and Asiatravel were my online choices after searching through, Asiarooms, Farangs and res24. It's up to you to do the research and make your choices and plans accordingly. One suggestion do not wait too long as November bookings are sold out on some better rooms at several resorts in Pattaya. By the way, the rates I was qouted on some hotels were the same rates as October's.:) Happy hunting!
