SOI L.K. METRO (CENTRAL PATTAYA)
dotcom_OD replied to mulphy's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Nuff said I think on this thred...We seem to beating a dead horse with differences in opinions. Pattaya is Pattaya, wherever we choose to party be it WS, Naklua, Soi Pattayaland, LK, 2,6,7,8, Marine, 3rd road...you get the drift... This pissing contest is what I was hoping the member's board would not turn into with the biz posting. Not because I don't like the post, but when it is open here on this area of the board, it is open to attack by BM's. And really just read the differences in thinking in the last few days...!!! Looking forward to having a corner of the board for buz owners, that I am sure will grow over the next few months/years...All the best to the biz owners... -
Nice~!!!

Martin, you need to disguise the card maybe as a Walmart or Target card on the outside...:)

SOI L.K. METRO (CENTRAL PATTAYA)
dotcom_OD replied to mulphy's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Let me say, that I do enjoy Soi LK Metro and surrounding areas of that Soi and offshoots too. The bars, restaurants and more importantly the locals are what make that Soi different from WS. You either like the area for what it is or not. Now, Mulphy, as far as promoting here on the Members Board, I do hope that Martin, considers a separate area for promotions by owners of bars, hotels, restaurants, and other business that we could all trust. Nothing against your business but in the last 2 weeks, there has been a lot of posts which have not about promoting business' in Pattaya. I do feel that LD 1 and your business has a good following as well as FLB, etc, etc. A separate area of the forum which would be the owners and their promotions would be just the solution. Hopefully this will appease everyone. -
I was wondering when you would post your unusual headlines again..thank you for a different angle on things in LOS.

200bt bar fine is it worth doing
dotcom_OD replied to alan lad's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
I want to thank you for posting questions such as this to BM's. Now as far as barfining for 200 baht at 2:00 AM. I don't barfine any woman that late. In fact, I don't even barfine at 11:00 regardless of the amount or discount. By that time, I am already with my date for the evening. If I don't have many hours of the evening with my barfine, it's useless to try to barfine late in the evening since it is almost over and I want to be in my room for some loving... -
service girls need ......as well
dotcom_OD replied to alan lad's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
I don't discriminate...Service girls, hostesses, dancers and showgirls...If they are good company and enjoy my time with them, then it's barfine time... I am looking forward to seeing your lineup both dancers and service girls when I return in January for my birthday...:) -
NEW LIVING DOLLS 1 - Member's Night
dotcom_OD replied to MM's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Shane...what happened to you is a big misfortune. My hopes are that you can move on from an ordeal such as you had... Now, as far as what happened to you...that is your business and no one else's on this board on any board whatsoever. It frustrates me enough to read about people slandering you with matters that do not concern anyone but you. That's all I have to say...Let's keep what is not about Pattaya outside of the board. -
Have not had the proverbial squirters...but...had lots of really suprised thai girls that got off hitting their G-spots and soaking the sheets...
-
Wow AL/Shane...your posts are definitely getting interesting...Remind me to ask you more about your girls next time around.~~~!!!
-
One note, the lighting in your gogo could be improved to assist in both the girls and hobbyists among us checking the girls out. One thing that came to mind when I walked in, even the girl I was with commented how dark the gogo was and she did not like this either. Welcome aboard Alan, hope to stop in again on my next visit, shake a hand, and toast a drink.

thegrog, I have a sim I always carry with me when I go to LOS. I usually set it up with at least 1000-2000 baht so when I come back it is good to go. Hopefully it should still be ok, but I know there are date limits on sims if they are not used regularly.

I have not purchased from Bangkokair at the new airport before. But my experiences, yes you can buy them at the airport directly. Also you can book in advance online if you have some idea when you are going, such as a day or two after you arrive.

There isn't any bargirl discussions in this forum, so let me say this. For what you are planning, it would be money well spent if used for say hosting a party over getting picked up via minivan/"limo" service. The price is not comparable to the service. If let us say, the usual price for a private taxi is 1500 baht, the minivan/limo rockstar treatment is 15,000 baht. Way too much money for what you get. Just take a taxi and throw a party, that's what I would say.

Welcome Alleycat. Being a judge was hell fun for sure. Looking forward to your posts and trips.

Condo's (anyone use them..?)
dotcom_OD replied to romello_202's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Romello since you are asking in the General section, I will keep this PG. If you prefer the service of a hotel, restaurant/room service, change of linen regularly, then the choice is a hotel. If you decide to have a live-in then a condo is a good choice, since you have the convenience of a kitchenette. One suggestion depending on the month you go, is to try a place such as Inn of the Golden Crab, Whitehouse Condotel, they do have kitchenettes. If you like it then stay if not you can always check out hotels in that vicinity since there are at least 5 more in that same block of Soi 13. Good luck finding one soon. -
If you had to move from Thailand where would you go and why?
dotcom_OD replied to sinkorswim's topic in Expat Issues
Of all the countries listed, my pick would be for the Philippines NOW. Let me explain why. Vietnam, China, Japan, Korea are all at a struggle now with many changes occuring in the next 2-3 years. These changes may affect the global economy but surely the Asian economy. Japan, will be a change in the Prime Minister the likelihood will be Shizuo(sp) Abe. He has conservative views, but he has plans to start up the military and defense with China and Korea looming with nuclear capability. Vietnam will be lifting its ban on multinational companies and foreign investments by the year 2009. If this happens wherein the government will ease up on foreigners owning land and living there, then this would be a good place to retire. There is too much speculation now until such time that decisions are made by the Vietnamese government on retirees and investment companies moving into Vietnam. Korea, they have their head up their rear end. With their nuclear capability getting on baord, the Japanese are very nervous after a missile was hot into Japanese waters. They will be outmatched with both Japan and the US being allies. China has a great economy with Hong Kong, Macau and Shanghai. IF only their government will rethink the pollution problem for one. Also the nuclear start up is opposed by the Chinese people but the government is still going through with this, with surrounding areas like Japan gearing up to start their nuclear arms race if they feel threatened. As you can see the power struggle in Asia is key to where to live and how your life will be affected with changes in goverments such as what is happening in Thailand. Now we go to the Philippines. Yes, there may be instability in parts of Manila, but I don't think I would live there most of the time. I prefer areas such as Cebu, Dumaguete Batangas, etc. Why live in densely populated areas when you can live by provinces that have the infrastructure such as ATM's schools, hospitals etc without the pollution, crime, traffic, and chaos of the big city. That is my take, on this. IF there are changes in the next few years for the betterment of retirees, and communist goverments of Vietnam and China lean towards changes that their people would benefit from such as tourism, infrastructure, investment, land ownership and holding. development of land plus water, air quality improvements, then my choices will include China and Vietnam also. -
There are two main international schools in Pattaya........Mainly Regents school where most of the expats that can afford go to. http://www.bkk-thailand.com/lkintschools.html http://www.asiatradingonline.com/internationalschools.htm http://www.shambles.net/thailand/ http://www.aboutthailand.info/internationa...e=international http://www.isat.or.th/member_schools_detai...id=mm7606350072 http://www.thailandgateway.com/education_i...nalschools.html These should keep you busy learning where you want to send your kids......It would be nice to read where you decided to enroll and why........

Wifi connections in any place you go to will not have a secure connection that you can trust for like internet banking. At the very least use a wired connection.

Got my booking today, if anyone is on that same Eva air at that goshforsaken time...leave me a message or im. Have a private car waiting for me for pick up to Pattaya.

Let me add to Whitespider's post. If you have an opportunity to understand that Shanghai and Macau had similar philosophies as Thailand years ago. You will know that the growth in both cities, are on an enormous scale. Shanghai is one of the richest cities with regards its business climate from manufacturing, processing, technology, electronics, etc. Macau is touted to be the next Las Vegas of the East. With both Bellagio, Harrahs and Wynn casinos. Now let us discuss Vietnam, specifically, Ho Chi Minh, formerly Saigon. If you look to understand that the Vietnamese government will lift the ban on multinationla companies and foreign ownership of land, by 2009, the growth expected is predicted to be in the scale of Shanghai. Without the change in government policy to allow multinational companies to own land and bring in foreign investment, Vietnam will just be another emerging economy. Thailand's rich and middle class see that this is inevitable to grow, build infrastructure, roads, bridges, highways, develop residential communities, condos, transform the vast land to be more world class and not Thai standards. This is global economics that the poor and lawmakers will have to accept. This is coming, in the very near future.

Look"s like the Phillippines will be the New retire Heaven
dotcom_OD replied to mrstein's topic in Expat Issues
Papillon, I think that Indonesia and Malaysia may be unstable with the political climate with the muslims. There have been bombings and that would not be a safe haven in my opinion. Vietnam is nice, beautiful women and country but lousy government with regards to hobbying with women. It is still illegal to bring a woman to your hotel room with punishment of jail. I am not a gambling man with regards communist regimes. Burma they say may be a nice haven to retire. Lastly do not give the Philippines the boot. If you have travelled to other areas outside the Luzon such as the Visayas region or Northern and Southern Luzon, it is still unspoiled and very reasonable with a simple way of life, some with beaches that would rival Hawaii and the Caribbean. -
New Thailand Visa Regulations Become Clearer
dotcom_OD replied to FatherMojo's topic in Expat Issues
They are still sorting out the coup, without word from the interim government, I believe this will not go into effect yet... From the initial opening of Suvarnbhuni airport they will have their hands full. -
I agree whitespider completely with your thoughts. If Thailand wants to be a major player in Asia such as Singapore, she is going to have to open her kingdom to investors to land, buildings, infrastructure, highways, multinational companies, processing of raw materials, Information technology, call centers, the list goes on and on... Yes, the foreign currency brought in through tourism and sponsorship is helping the economy, but if they do look to the future and want to compete with their asian neighbors, the change is necessary. Jobs, careers, education, linking cities together, land/business/commercial/residential development will be needed whether it be for foreigners or locals eventually. The country cannot continue in this slow pace without opening their doors to foreign investment and diplomatic negotiations with Europe, Asia and US. Thaksin, showed the first of this by selling a 51% stake in a telocom company. Whether we like him or not, other companies will eventually go into business deals to grow and expand especially if their are traded publicly.
