You say 10k per month without contract near Pattaya Park I shall be surprised if it is up to much but then again, we all have our standards. Three times I have rented long term in Pat's and in addition I have owned in VT for a brief stint and one thing I have learnt is that, very few bargains exist under market value Probably the best deal I had was in the Jomtien Complex where I was fairly high up in a 55sq mtr studio for 12k per month plus utiliities and the place was nicely furnished but the establishment fell short in other areas although I adored the beach front location. I must g

Although I like Jomtien, I have never been a fan of View Talay especailly VT 1 due to it's many lower classes who happen to exist there. VT 2 is a lot better

Apartment wanted for 6 months.

17k per month is for a studio. Maid service and change of bedding every other day. We never discussed water however, using a shower as opposed to a tub equates to pennies so that does not concern me and it's certainly not a deal breaker. The front desk told me that I should expect to pay 1200-3500 per month for electricity. -

I have agreed to stay six months in order to qualify for 17k per month. They also told me 3-6 months=18k per month. As soon as I walked into one of the rooms I was sold I have also heard good reports of this place which is an all together a much lower cost http://www.diamondcitypattaya.com/accommodation.html -

With a budget of around 20,000 per month including utilities, I have also been looking in areas of South Pattaya and Jomtien excluding View Talay (which quite frankly I find depressing, and judging by the amount of jumpers so do many others) In the end I have signed up for a studio in LK pavilion which upon inspection, I both liked the accomodation and the staff attitude They ticked all the boxes and we have agreed on a rate of 17k per month+electric at 7Baht a unit. http://www.lkpattayahotel.com/pavilion/index.html -
Would tend to go along with that.. I have a few friends both in England and Australia who are in the A/C business and all of them agree that it is not healthy to sleep with it switched on.

Bloody Hell, it seems to me that you gentlemen living in Thailand are spending much more money on keeping cool than many of us are on trying to keep warm in the depths of the UK winter. Are Thai people billed for their electricity at the same rate as Frank the Farang ?

Definitely a 500 baht joiner fee unless the girl registers with you upon check in.

I was checking back in to the Nana ten days ago for another stay of three nights when the reception desk took a call from someone who wanted to make a reservation and the reply I heard was...Sorry, the hotel is fully booked for the month of June It just goes to show, that for everyone who thinks the place is a shit hole, there are three or four of us who are satisfied customers. Clearly the Nana has rooms of different grades and I have to say, now that they recognise me as a frequent customer..I am very satisfied with the accomodation which they provide and in around 30 stays there, I have

pentire replied to cracked's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Look no further Right location, low cost and girl friend friendly. http://www.jasminehotel-pattaya.com/booking/rezeasy.html Infact I am there myself in Mid May -
I wrote a review on the J-House last year. http://www.pattayapages.com/reviewpost/sho...=7&cat=4&page=6 Essentially, it is a reasonable budget hotel in a great location with a lovely pool on the roof although, it gets very hot up there and the only shade is a small Pagoda. Although I don't use this place anymore, prefering to be in Walking St. In the 40-50 times I stayed there, the only problem ever encounted was a broken shower boiler which was rectified in an hour. Expect to pay around 600 in low and 800 in high season with discounts for stays of longer than 2 weeks.

I used the Thai Limo service on New Years Eve having landed at around 9pm. The charge for the run to Pattaya was 2000 Baht which you pay in the terminal building. At the desk I was shown a photo of a fairly new mercedes. When we got to the vehicle it was a ten year old Volvo Once we got going the driver asked me if I wanted to go on the express way! Sure I replied, to which the driver requested another 200 baht for the tolls Knowing that I had been conned, I kept quiet and never argued the point because the clock was ticking and I wanted to be in Pattaya before midnight. I use no one else. My route is UK-Amsterdam-Bangkok and have been using China Airlines since 1992, three times a year. Although for a good few years I travelled economy, these days I pay twice as much and fly Dynasty (Biz) Class which is truly excellent.

A bit further than an hour, probably around an hour 20 minutes. As for the opening date, this is a moving target and all the latest press release states is operational by 2007. It is as much as a cock up as Wembley Stadium. http://etna.mcot.net/query.php?nid=7979

One of those Outlet Malls shall be able to accommodate you. Good quality gear like Austin Reed & Tom Tailor with fat boy sizes I think Pattaya has got two, I use the one at the start of South Pattaya Rd near the Sukhumvit Junction.

How much to take on a month's stay
pentire replied to Hardeep J's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
This post just about describes my budget and expenditure Somedays I am well over and a few days under, plus if my wedge is diminishing too quickly then I have a cheap charlie night out without buying any lady drinks I always seem to arrive at Don Muang down to my last 2000 Baht. Sinbinjack also offers sound advice in his piece and my friend Jim manages to live in Pattaya on 35,000 baht per month loving every minute -
I used this service back in December. The mini van takes you to the bus depot (not station) along with all your bags, then 3 hours later you are in Pattaya where another mini van drops you at your hotel A fantastic service and all for 350 baht. The coach has reclining seats and an adequate AC system.
