  1. The rooms at Anna Jet are of the shit hole variety and only suitable for romping one of the bar staff before getting back to enjoying the evening in Pattaya. This is a pic from a typical AJ room
  2. That is a good school. My friend's Son goes to BEST, he is 15 now and a nicer person you would not meet. The fact that his Mum & Dad are no longer a family unit just goes to show how much credit the School should receive for him becoming the young gentleman he now is. His manners are exemplary and so are many of his friends from the same school whom I have had the pleasure to meet I usually go along to the Christmas party held at the school and watch the kids perform on stage with their various plays, it's amazing how many well known faces from the Pattaya retail & entertainment comm
  3. The J-House on Beach Road falls into your budget. It is in South Pattaya next door to Royal Garden Plaza and has a fab pool on the roof. No need to book except in high season. Typical Room And here is a pic of the pool on the room; quite frequently you have it to yourself or you and one other
  4. Seldom do I have any problem since I now always switch the A/C off while sleeping. All of the decent hotels have floor standing fans available for guests because Asian clients usually insist upon them. Plenty of quality (non alcohol induced) sleep is also vital to stay healthy and I try to obtain that in the afternoon sat in a deck chair on the beach & breathing in fresh air.
  5. I owned a studio condo in View Talay a few years back but subsequently sold it on for a 22% profit. During the time I owned the place I never bothered with tenants and then I decided to investigate other parts of Pattaya because VT has too many low lifes who stay up all night with their audio visual eqipment on too loud. That in it's self is the problem with buying; after you have moved in, you can not choose your neighbours nor tell them how to behave. In Pattaya, normal, rational people when fueled with over indulgence discover anti social behaviour.
  6. I have stayed here four times and I like it a lot chiefly because of it's location and friendly staff. Add to that a huge shower with plenty of water pressure, beautiful fresh linen with the aroma of fabric conditioner, nice size TV with around 40 stations, king size beds and very importantly no joiner fee for those un-registered guests who you may invite to stay the night Now the few things which could be improved;Beds are very firm, not enough storage space for clothes etc, no in house restaurant, safe deposit box is in reception not the guest bedroom and it has to be said, that due to it
  7. The above poster is spot on with what he writes however, it's not a shithole & on the plus side the rooms are nice enough, staff are courteous, nice pool with swim up bar and a lovely beach area with some bars run by the locals. Nice place to stay for a couple. Not suited to singles who want to play the field
  8. How Much You Wanna Pay ? If the skys the limit then the Marriott or Montien or Hard Rock should all be suitable. None of them come cheap !
  9. I agree, compared to others the CAL Dynasty/Biz Class represents fab VFM. Heading for Bangkok i much prefer to sit downstairs in 21 A or B in order that i am one of the first to leave the aircraft once that big door opens. That way i am front of the Q at passport control then straight out to meet my driver because i only ever arrive BGK with hand luggage. The Luggage i take home pays for a large portion of my flight
  10. Thanks for that Buddy, unless someone wants to share a Taxi to Sin City i shall do as you suggested and save around 1500 Baht
  11. After 3 nights in Bangkok i shall be heading back to Pattaya on the 11th December. I am flexible with the departure time however, mid day would suit me.
  12. What a load of Bollocks; Three times Her Majestys Customs have approached me at Heathrow to ask about the contents of my suitcase! I always tell them the truth & that i am in possesion of twenty or so footy shirts for the lads in the pub. They take a look, confirm what i say is true and i am on my way shirts intact and no fine to pay.
  13. The only way you shall cut out the middle man is by wasting lots of time and taxi fares in Bangkok. You shall then be dealing with the actual factory and being a non thai speaker who does not fully understand the various different grades of quality of these garments they shall see you coming all the way from Don Muang Airport And all this for a saving of around 70 baht a shirt (£1.00) Far better to cut a bulk deal with a Pattaya trader who shall profit by a small amount per shirt for sales of 10 or more. Plus once you get them back to your hotel room and closely examine each one for stitch
  14. I would suggest the J-House Hotel as being suitable for your needs and you shall get a room for around 600 Baht per night if you stay longer than two weeks. The hotel is located on Beach road less than 200 meters from Walking Street. Although, safe deposit boxes are behind reception and not in the rooms i prefer it that way as those coded safes do not strike me as being totally secure. http://www.pattayapages.com/reviewpost/sho...=7&cat=4&page=6
  15. The noise is only a part of the problem. Another factor to take in to consideration is the heavy construction traffic which currently blocks Soi 13 for most of the day plus those cement lorries keep coming and going and knocking wing mirrors of parked cars not to mention the absolute eye sore of the whole bloody thing Soi 13...Nah, not for me this Christmas
  16. Ever since two South African's took over the dental practice which i used here in the UK and started charging daft money i have been using the Royal Palace Dental Centre in Pattaya. Bloody Excellent, a half hour in the chair and they descale plus a clean and polish all for 600 Baht (the SA's charged me £80.00 for the same treatment) I have not had any extractions or fillings however, i would be very confident that this place would do a good job. If anyone is interested the address is:- Royal Palace Dental Centre 215/64-65 Second Road (opposite Royal Garden Mall) South Pattaya Pat
  17. A lot of construction work is going on in Soi 13 at this moment in time however, if you turn the TV up you can't hear a thing
  18. I am looking for some feedback on the Day Night Hotel. Are the rooms ok, beds comfortable, no guest fee, all the usual stuff
  19. Hello Buddy, There are loads of places who would do that type of thing. You can even take you own Pic's or designs and they shall reproduce them entirely to your spec. The Big C shopping arcade in North Pattaya has a booth carrying out this service also Mike Shopping Arcade in South Pattaya has a similar operation. Any vendor in Pattaya who sells T-Shirts shall be able to guide you.
  20. Yeah, i agree with Big Robo. Not my idea of Holiday accomodation unless of course funds were very tight however, i would give it consideration if i wanted to be away from the action during a longer stay but having said that a nice condo down Jomtien way would probably be more desirable. These are the type of places where guys are found about a week after they have deceased next to an empty bottle of gin and a razor blade
  21. I hear what you say Red, but i have spent a large chunk of my life living in Thailand and you won't find many Thai girls who are prepared to jump in to a taxi either at Don Muang, Bangkok or Pattaya which is being driven by a total stranger if they were travelling alone. Maybe as i am getting older i am becoming over cautious, but i have seen some truly gruesome things happen to farangs in Thailand and all because common sence deserted them at a crucial moment. That said, I Love the Place and it's People.
  22. A lot of criminals operate at Bangkok Airport; they know that when us guys arrive we are bulging with cash or TC's and as a consequence plenty of tourists have fallen for the cheap taxi trick which takes you a few miles down the road only to meet the drivers associates along with the end of their life Similarly, a few months back did anyone see that story in the Pattaya Mail where a Bangkok taxi driver killed a tourist and dumped his body near Pattaya because the tourist would only pay him a 1000 baht and he suspected the tourist was in possesion of a large wedge of currency. I learnt m
  23. Why not look in Yellow Pages under Cheap Charlies R Us or something similar The airport pick up is so important to get right Plenty of guys have tried to save a few hundred Baht only to regret it
  24. That restriction of 10,000 baht does not apply to tourists from other countries, it is for returning Thai residents following an overseas trip. We have the same tariff imposed upon us here in the UK if returning from a trip outside one of the EU member states (£160.00)
  25. Don't any of the Sun Lotion manufacturers have a wbsite to help you guys out At least you shall find information compiled from years of scientific & practical research for your type of skin complexion as opposed to members (views) who could be anything from Anglo Saxon to Afro Caribean
