I went to enquire about a room there about a month ago, and they wanted 1200 per night. It seems a nice place, but as others have said over priced. I will be staying with my GF for Christmas and New Year, but a friend of mine will be there at the same time, and asked me find a nice hotel for him, for the period 19th Dec to 2nd Jan. They want 300 per night on top of the "High season" rate, plus compulsory 1500 New Years Eve Gala meal. The rate averaged out at nearly 1800 baht per night. Needless to say, I declined their very generous offer. By the way, when you come out of the hotel, an

Custom made shoes in Pattaya?
thechairman18 replied to sezzy_m's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I was in Pattaya about a month ago, and was on Walking St, my GF wanted something out of Boots the chemists, and right above ( and I kid you not) was a sign which said "Shoes made to Order". No idea other than that, anybody in Pattaya noticed this, or has any further info? thechairman18 -
I stayed at the LEK on 2nd road a couple of weeks ago. Sunday afternoon got a girl off Beach road, (ok, chancy, I know) The girl had to leave her ID at reception, and while she was in the bathroom, I put my valubles in the inroom safe. She was good in bed, and seemed straight, so asked her to stay till morning. Paid her off in the morning, and within a few minutes, Reception phoned me to ask if everything was OK, and could they give her the ID back. This, and I think all hotels, are looking after your and their interests by not having ways and means to slip past reception. Walk of shame

If you are based in the UK, as I am, try these sites www.skyscanner.net www.traveljungle.co.uk www.opodo.co.uk When you get the results, check ALL the fares, as they don't always put the cheapest first. thechairman18

Best Breakfast? Try the Lek Hotel on 2nd Road, All you can eat buffet breakfast 95 baht, open 7am to 1 pm yes 1pm. There is so much food, you would not believe it. Also they do an all you can eat buffet dinner 160 baht, open 6pm to 10pm ? Although its a hotel, non residents are more than welcome, I stayed there a couple of weeks ago, 1000 baht per night (without breakfast) in the new wing, which also had an inroom safe. When I paid off my GF, the reception rang to ask if everything was ok, and only then gave her the ID card back. So even if you are not a Cheep Charlie, Room+B/f+Dinner,

Instead of taking cash, or travellers cheques, I have a Nationwide BS (UK) debit card. You can get your cash from any ATM, the exchange rate is at bank rate which is better than tourist rate, and they absorb the overseas bank charges, also they do not impose a service charge. But obviously you must have cash in you account. thechairman18

I had a wonderful steak at a place called My Way (Frank Sinatra) its in the arcade to the right of Kiss Food as you look at Kiss Food from Mike's Shopping, on Second Road, and on the right, just before The Big Horn. The owner/ chef is Dutch, and the beef is from Argentina. I took a friend, who lives in Pattaya, and he said it was the best Steak he had had in Pattaya. thechairman18

I've not stayed at that Hotel. I stayed at Diana Inn corner of 2nd Road and Soi Diana, opposite the rear entrance to Mike Shopping Mall. Double room, air con, nice pool and full b/fast 750 baht per room for 2. Nice place, quiet, visitor friendly, and handy for everything. Going again next week thechairman18

Hi, You are on holiday, but still can't resist shopping ? From your hotel, (you said it was the one I suggested ), get on to Pattaya Beach Rd as before, walk along the beach road, until you come to the "A One Royal Cruise Hotel ", on your left hand side. You cant miss it , its in the shape of a cruise liner. Turn left onto Soi 3, walk to the top to Pattaya 2nd Road, and right opposite is Big "C" shopping mall. The biggest in Pattaya. Have a good one. thechairman18

I'm not sure where your hotel is, if it is the one in North Pattaya, you could walk down to the junction of North Pattaya Road, and Beach Road, and catch a Baht Bus ( thats the local name for a Songthaew ) and it will only cost 10 Baht per person, to Walking St/Bamboo Bar. And its about 1/2 mile or so. Make sure you get in a Baht bus that already has passengers in. If you get in one that is parked up, the driver will assume you want him as a private charter/taxi, and will charge you 100 Baht. thechairman18

Hi from a Newbie. I recently had a great time in Pattaya, and will be returning shortly for 4 weeks this time. I like to have a bet on the horses, here in the UK, using Betfair. However when I was in Pattaya, and tried to access their site, access was denied, as it is a gambling site. However, I was wondering, if the Racing Post website is also blocked. Could someone in Pattaya/Thailand try to access these sites for me and let me know if both sites are "access" denied. www.racingpost.co.uk www.betfair.com Any help would be much appreciated thechairman18
