  1. Emirates. They fly a good time from Birmingham meaning I can still work that day then catch the 2120 night flight. Good planes, great entertainment system and short lay overs in Dubai (which has cheap duty free). Only downside is that they can be pricey.

  3. Stayed there for 3 nights in May. Took 2 girls back, never asked for a joiner fee.
  4. Eh ? Their fleet is less than 5 years old, most new 777's and the A380 is on the Dubai - Bangkok route. The entertainment system is superb. Individual screens and hundreds of films and programmes to watch. If Ethiad is better, I'd love to know how.
  5. I think it is a well made series, not resorting to the usual titillation associated with programmes made about Thailand.
  6. Another visit last night. Spring rolls to start which were well filled and crispy, then crispy duck with pancakes for the main. Very tasty, the duck was very well cooked. Only criticism would be that the pancakes were a little thin.
  7. Ate there again last night, it has improved since my last visit. Also seemed busier than before, not for freelancers though.
  8. As Monty says, we ate there a couple of nights ago. I had chicken satay to start and sweet and sour chicken balls for the main. Both were tasty, the wine was decent. Monty had chilli beef ribs which were very tasty and chilli beef and rice. A couple of bottles of water as well. All in around 850 baht. It isn't gourmet, but then again this is Thailand. But I would recommend and would go again.
  9. Why are you surprised ? Thai loves Thai, remember that and you'll have a fighting chance.
  10. Ate there a few times, always been a decent meal. Blue Parrot is good as well for a snack as the portions are smaller.
  11. Sorry when I mean books I mean books on Kindle are cheaper than the paper versions. Didn't explain myself properly.
  12. True, I suppose if I was living abroad I would have to get one. Obvious advantages are that books are cheaper and it saves on space if you are travelling.I generally only read on holiday so I can't really justify the cost and I can easily carry 4/5 paperbacks for my trip. This trip I shall have : Stan Collymore - Tackling my Demons Major Dick Winters - Beyond Band of Brothers Ed Macy - Hellfire Karl Pilkington - The Travel Diaries of Karl Pilkington Tony Cascarino - Full Time The Secret Life of Tony Cascarino Geraint Anderson - City Boy Should keep me busy in the quiet moments amongst the madness !!!!!
  13. Maybe I am just old fashioned but I still like the look and feel of a book. Reading off a kindle just wouldn't be the same.
  14. Ate there a couple of times. Extremely average. Montydog had a hot dog or similar there once, and it came out on 2 pieces of bread.
  15. Try the Queen Vic. The black pudding in there is as close to the stuff back home that you will get.
  16. LOL Like that will matter to these people. It's simple, don't rent them. Go elsewhere for your watersports (not the Montydog kind) fun. Renting a Jetski in Thailand is asking for your hansum man fund to be ripped off.
  17. Nongjai Restaurant for me pictured previously. It is near the DHL and Cigar shop on 2nd Road between Soi 10 and 11. They also have a branch down near Big C. Top food and reasonably priced. Myself and a friend took 2 girls there one night, they said it was very good, especially the fish.

  19. No worries. It was a bit obscure.
  20. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088292/ Plays Boe. Apology accepted.
  21. Toy Soldiers
  22. Are the girls still as dirty as they were 18 months ago in there ?
