  1. I went to the Open at Troon this week and during practice managed to get the views from some of the players as to who will win the Rideher Cup. Firstly I talked to Tom Weiskopf (Duece) “Hey Tom who do you think will win the 2004 Rideher Cup?” (Tom) “At Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, I think” (Duece) “Hold it Tom, not that Mickey Mouse comp, THE RIDEHER CUP” (Tom) “oh yes, Sorry Duece, has to be the US team” Sergio was in good form (not like his golf) (Sergio) “Hey Ducie has to be Europe, if the Norwegians are there” Vijay Singh was in a hurry (Duece) “Vijay who will win the Rideher Cup” (Vijay) “Fuck off, I am away to practice” Next I asked John Daly (John) “I think I would like to play sounds a good piss up” (Duece) “Yes John but who’s gonna win” (John) “Has to be the good old US of A” Adam Scott and Butch Harmon had differing views (Butch) “Has to be USA” (Adam) “With Aussie Stevo in the team it has to be Europe” Ernie Els and Retief Gooson were practicing together and both agreed with Pieman living in South Africa, it has to be Europe. (Ernie) “I hear the Euros drink more than the US” (Retief) “Yea and Pieman is the champ” (Ernie) “Could me and Retief get some women over there?” (Duece) “Sure Ernie no problems for your wallets” Padraig Harrington (Padraig) “To be sure it’s a Euro win be Jesus” Nick price wrote down some numbers of BGs for when he’s next in Thailand So opinions seem to be divided as to who will win the Rideher Cup in 2004. Cheers from your roving reporter. Duece
  2. Alan I have looked at buying clubs in Pattaya but did not find anything that much cheaper than UK and allot less choice. Don’t know if cheaper in Bangkok or not. I would get a set off e-bay and take them over. Cheers Duece
  3. Just carrying on from Hub 1 - Whether it’s worth lumping my clubs half way across the world I find it all depends how often you are planning to play I think if more than 3 rounds it is worth taking your own clubs. (you did not say how long your trip was)? Clubs are easily hired at the courses and some bars, but I would at least take your own golf shoes. 2 - Whether anyone is out there that I can play with (and I mean GOLF) Sorry not there myself but usually there are plenty of guys around looking for a game, if not go to one of the societies that are around. But do get at least one round in as the golf is great fun and has to be experieced. 3 - Is the weather OK to try and play at this time. In the lap of the gods with the rain, but normally you should get some fine days or part days to play. The courses are less busy in the low season. Cheers duece
  4. Other alternatives are. If you want a friendly bunch to play with try the Sugar Shack, Soi Pattaya 2, where you can roll up pretty much any day, share a bus (for 100 bahts each) with a bunch of expats & holidaymakers and play most of the courses in a 20 mile radius. The "society" is run by Brian Ellis, without any formal membership or entrance fees. They go out Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays just go to the bar and ask about the golf. Another group not to serious is Mulligans next to sugar Shack. Cheers Duece
  5. Funny Stevo We will have to think of one that means "you don't get to the ladies Tee box" Maybe doggy style as you will be shooting from behind the ladies box. Cheers Duece
  6. Hey Doggie We will have to look at Thumpers Handicap for the Rideher Cup he is definatly playing to much Have a good time Rick and see you in November Cheers Duece
  7. Shilo: yes it is a shame Loy Kratong is late in November this year I think 23rd - 24th November (all depends on the moon cycle), I also was hoping to get Rideher cup and Loy Kratong in together but looks like I will be missing Loy. Hope to see you in 2005. Stevo my Euro/Aussie glad to see you back in November, but not as much as a certain lady Looking forward to a few nights out and maybe a trip to Xzite will also be on the cards Cheers Duece
  8. Nice to see you back Thaidane just keep out of those fluffy brown things that look like little beaches and you will be fine. One of our few European winners last year. Hey Pie, I know you can party you fucker no need to practice that part of your game. Its them metallic thingy’s with the rubber handles that you need to pick up and whack that you need to do. Hilly great to see you and AM back on board (I would be lost without my partner) and as always the lovely AM is our trump card. Doggy a 7 at a par 3 does that get you 2 points on your new handicap? Great to see so many Europeans coming forward. So where are all the US guys, I bet still looking at their trophy and cleaning it, grinning like Cheshire Cats back in the states.(don’t wear it out lads) Cheers Duece
  9. Hi Glad to be back again and yes my balls were all over the place last year, on the day and the night before. I am not sure about my captaincy, after last years mauling I feel as safe as Claudio Ranieri at Chelsea. Have just visited LOS, and worrying have seen the USA team taking it very seriously, Thumper (Rick) is now playing 3 times a week out of Miulligans and even Dad (Dale) has been seen on the driving range. But also I have had promises from Europeans, from Pieman (Robin) he said he would be out every day practicing for the match, but mind you that was at 01:00 in Kittens on his last night in LOS. And I know Doggie is in hard training back in Britain as we speak but he would not tell me at what. Hope for another fun day out and looking forward to seeing the trophy again when it is brought safely back from the States by Grendal . So it can be taken back to Europe next year. Cheers Duece
  10. Hi Nice Pics Looked like a good day out Steve, would like to do myself someday. Maybe you could have persuaded Monty and a few other European Players to come back in November for the Rideher Cup I bet they don't have a dirty dancing comp at their prize giving Cheers Duece
  11. Hi Doggy Sounds good to me. Yes Khoa Kheow was a good course, but they let us down with the food last year so looking forward to a new course. Will maybe try out in 2 weeks time just to get some practice in Do we know when Loy Kattoy is this year? Could not miss all those boys in beautiful dresses Seriosly would like to fit both into Novembers trip. Cheers duece
  12. Hi Commander You can hire shoes at courses , but differing quality. If i were you I would take your own shoes Cheers Duece

  15. Well looks like another Rideher cup is on the cards Hope your balls have dropped off doggie as I am home in England while you lucky bastard are in LOS. As for me I should be able to fit the rideher cup around any date in November as will be there for 3 weeks then and I can make it any time. It would be good to make near Loy Kratong as I like. Oh by the way Canadians are most welcome on the European side especially low handicappers or bandits ;D Cheers duece (2003 loosing captain )
  16. Pudgy and Brit OK! But golfer? after my last attempt in LOS. I am sure I could take on most in a Johnny Walker contest I am sure I could get through a bottle or two [smiley=cheers.gif] Cheers Duece

  21. First of all a big thanks to all who participated in this years Rideher cup, everything was a great day except for the result of course. :-[ Also a big thanks to Doggie for the organisation of the event and FLB bar for the great hospitality. It was a great day and great night. I hope the American’s take better care of the Rider Cup than we did last year, and that they look after it with pride and don't loose it. ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) Have posted a few pics of the day they do not come near to Howard’s quality but I hope you enjoy. The US captain working out his pairings The Euro captain working out his pairings A Jomtien beach award contender Hilly taking a well earned rest after carrying duece Sorry Hilly but it had to be done, why would your caddy not come within 10 feet of you when you did this shot? What was she scared of? ;D Hilly doing the drive of shame I think this is for a 10 or 11
  22. Ray I would even have trouble hitting this, with that bloody NIKE logo there!
  23. RAY No No No not Nike balls I hate the bloody things! > > Take them up country with you! This is what happens with the little blighters! Before After Cheers [smiley=cheers.gif] Duece
  24. Great to see AM playing again, she adds a couple of great assets to our Euro team. ::) Of course Ben and AM can play together (that's playing golf) goes without saying, but just did not want to give Grendel clues about our Euro pairings before the day (whoops bloody said it now) :-/ I know the Americans will try anything to win the trophy. Grendel will be having sleepless nights already working out his pairings and wondering what we are up to. ;D ;D ;D Cheers Duece
  25. Great news Hilly. ;D ;D Would not have been the same without you and AM. Will even try to fix the Air-con on the bus for you. Cheers and looking forward to it (and the golf) ::) Duece
