The rooms look good, especially for the price. I have seen specials for the LK Royal Wing when looking for hotels to stay, BUT the 100 yards of Bukhao , down an unlit dirt path have always put me off. I did walk down there once, to see what it might be like- my impression was that many of the guests have their own bikes. Thanks for the review.

I stayed in Hua Hin in 2016 for three nights in 2016. I travelled from Pattaya to Bangkok airport to pick up my daughter (coming from Australia), then by bus to Hua Hin. The Bus ride was 4 hours of utter boredom- really nothing to see but industrial sites. We stayed at the Hua Hin Marriott Resort at a cost of approx. THB4,000 per night per room. Don’t know about the Flipper House, but most hotels only provide Breakfast for those guests who register on check in. Thus, even though you have booked for two, most likely they will make you pay for casual guests breakfast. LK Metro Hotel is the only one that I know that is an exemption to this.

Just a minor point. I had a quick look at current and past Calendar, and notice it is clogged with Birthdays. These currently come up on the side bar , so is it really necessary to place them in the calendar? With over “20,000 members”, that’s an average of 50+ birthdays per day. (yeah I realise many members leave their birthday blank, or provide an incorrect date) Perhaps we could have “who is in town AND celebrating their birthday”. This might keep the calendar cleaner, easier to read, and possibly more utilised.

I stayed at the Baraquada a couple of years ago. At that time, it was very guest friendly, no problems with 2 guests. BUT, I personally did not like the set up of the room- bed in the middle, multiple lights. I found the room uncomfortable and overpriced, although the rest of the hotel-including the roof top bar, was great.

I have flown twice with Qatar, based on price. Their Business class flight from Doha to Sydney was "ordinary". Really poor quality food, lack of service. Totally disinterested flight attendants. Economy class is packed, possibly due to their pricing, and again food is terrible, but the service seemed better. I would not fly Qatar again, unless the price was much lower than competing airlines.

After reading Mr Evil’s report, I also tried the Broadway restaurant. The food comes well presented, tasty, but I found it was oversalted for my taste. However, they make the best Irish Coffee I have ever tasted. I tried the Irish Coffee at Beefeaters (THB 170) and could not finish it. Broadway charge THB 159, and it is well worth it. I will re visit the restaurant just for that.
