  1. OK i need help here guys. I now have my full 450B for one month to use on iLikeHD,its tells me i have to update.Updates on my laptop no problem. On Minix i havent a clue where to even begin.Heeeeeelp
  2. OK having a bad day, first off i get my 15MB package from 3BB.Im not sure i would go as far as calling it shit, lets just say its not much better than the free True internet i had before.I think this a mistake thats cost me 11500B. Only time will tell. So next step is to go buy True money to use on I Love HD TV.I get 350B worth, then go about creating an account only to find the said package wants 450 points not 350. Like i said not a good day.
  3. Hi guys, Ive done a little legwork,Samsung is out of the running, over 48inch only smart. I have seen a 60inch sharp LC-60LE650D2,on offer in Numchai for 35K about 4K cheaper than on Lazada.Anyone any history with Sharp,if there are no bad comments,i think its the one ill go for.
  4. Insurance through Expats club would at this time be around 500 or 600 pounds per annum.
  5. Usually long term condo rentals do not include utilities or in most cases internet access. With regards retirement extension you usually have to convert an O visa to retirement, the O visa gives you 90 days on arrival,so have your 800K in the bank on arrival so when you apply for retirement you can show you have been living on this cash.On sucessful application you get 12 mnths, only having to report address every 90 days. Good luck with the language though you can get by very easily without it,no doubt if you sucessfully learn Thai you will probably enhance your time in Thailand.
  6. Thanx for all your input gentlemen.I think i might have some legwork to do. As with a few of you the mail order route isnt for me.
  7. Wow some awesome prices,do you know if they have a good reputation?
  8. Sounds like a fantastic deal to me,i will check it out.Thanx
  9. In the next couple of weeks ill be looking to buy a new none smart TV 50inch i think. Where is the best place to buy,is there a best time of the month to buy,ie do they have targets to meet, meaning they give you a good price at the end of the month? Will there be any negotiation on price. Also anybody have an idea what i might end up paying. Thanx guys
  10. I would recommend,AA Pattaya Ville.situated on Soi 14 3rd Road. This place has gone through a complete refit, the rooms are a very good size, when i had a look around last Dec.they were quoting 15 k per month. If you go for this place i would suggest you ask for a room on the forth floor or above.
  11. Good report, tho i have to say im really happy i dont have to do that shit anymore.
  12. Thanx for all your advice guys. Looks like ill be taking about 4 sleeves, seems to be a small enough amount not to cause too much hassle should i get pulled in the UK.
  13. Thanx Daz,thats the info i was looking for.
  14. Next weekend im back to the UK for a few months and am thinking i might take some cigarettes back with me.However i will only be taking a carry on bag. Anybody see any problems at Swampy, getting them thro.
  15. I tried using 006 to call a mobile in the UK,it said number not recognised. So i reverted back to my 009 for mobile connections. So it seems 006 is only for calls to landlines or at least that is my experience.
  16. No Fisherman. The 006 replaces the +.ie...00644
  17. Thanx for the heads up on 006,guess ill give it a try.
  18. Interesting,so you call them and give them the number you want to call. They then call you back and connect you.Is that how it works? How do they deduct the call money from your card.
  19. Just wondered what everyone is using to get cheaper calls to the UK.Im currently using 009,is this still one of the best or are there other options.
  20. I suppose the water is tap water, reverse osmosis in itself should be clean enough to drink but i worry about the maintainance of the machines. My drinking water is 50B for 12 litres. As for drinking tap water,no way although town water is probably not too bad. What happens when there is a shortage and they bring in a tanker to top up.Ive seen some of the places where they pick up this water, some look like mosquito infested stagnant ponds..
  21. Martin they look like an ordinary mouse, just no cable,as i said mine was indeed 209B from Tesco on soi arunothai, make sure it has a central wheel for scrolling. All you need is 1 AA battery and away you go,mine works great and the mouse is about 10 feet from the box.
  22. OK so heres my up to date report on the Minix box. I couldnt understand why i could watch 1080 films on my laptop but couldnt watch live tv at very poor quality with the box.Obviously i had concerns that somehow the box was at fault, however Lanzalad took time out to invite me to his condo to check my box on his 3BB internet provider, surprise surprise everything worked fine,Lanzalad explained that my True internet was blocking streaming to Minix because it recognised it as being a media device. So i guess if you want your Minix to work perfectly DO NOT HAVE TRUE INTERNET. ps another
