Room, pool, position and quality
pattysteve replied to teelack's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I am just ending a 6 mnth stay at Maxx, and have already booked for Oct.So i guess you can tell i like the place. If you want to book a suite there ask for room 406,its a friends condo and its by far the best in the building. -
No,i used Mr T. Hotels always add a little commission.

Hi, Im talking about the newer MaxxCentral. There are no mozzie screens in the apartment i rent, and like you i hate them, infortunately they love me.So its windows closed for me,i just manage with the overhead fan and very little AC. The pool isnt very big, maybe 8 to 10 mtrs long but quite narrow, perhps 3 mtrs. However there are seldom more than 2 or 3 round the pool so you can get a decent swim, unless you are Thorpe standard lol.

Been staying at Maxx over 5 mnths now, have already rebooked for a further 6 mnths starting in October. The place is good value for a longterm stay,im paying 10900 a mnth for basic rent.My electric bill is usually around 750B,though i use the AC very rarely.Cleaning is 1200B for cleaning and bedding etc twice weekly.Hardwired internet access is avaulable free of charge. A mate of mine has just done a months stay, his only complaint was that the matress was too hard and just couldnt get used to it.Oh and he was quite shocked when his electric came out at 3500B,so be careful about AC

It might well be a regular USB cable,i did take my camera with me to show what i wanted. I'll try one more time at Tukcom,if that fails i'll go for the card reader.
-
Thanx for the great advice, ill try your suggestions. I must admit i was surprised not to find in Tukcom,i was in there moving from one stall to another with no success.

There are hundreds, keep your eyes open when you are walking around,im sure will spot them. Where are you staying? i may know one near where you are.I like you drop off mine but it could be handy occasionally to DIY.

Been in there too,had chicken madras. They served the chicken on the bone and once you had stuggled to get it off there wasnt much worth eating. The taste was ok but nothing special. Oh and its definately not 400yrds from soi exzite, more like 150.

pattysteve replied to kratos's topic in Restaurants and food
You can try Cherry"s restuarant on 3rd road, opposite where exzite used to be.They have different types of buffet on different days.Prices vary a little but tend to be around 300 to 400B. This place has a very good reputation. -

First time ever,a live one.

No no,was much much bigger than that one. When i said slim i meant slim for its length, which was near 6ft.Was probably 4 or 5 inches in circumference. My mate said it looked pretty aggressive.I guess im lucky it didnt snap at me.I was only a foot away when i first saw it. -
Yesterday afternoon whilst on my way for food with a mate.We were on soi 14,3rd road, when all of a sudden my mate starts shouting and screaming, and runs off.Its then i look down and see a bright green snake, which by this time is slithering away from me.Soon it disappears into some vegetation. This bright green snake was about 1.5 to 2 meters in length and very slim and a small head.I have checked it out and it seems to be a harmless variety, but i guess you cant be too careful. Been coming to Pattaya for over 20 yrs and never seen a live snake on the street before,ah apart from you want

I ve been in town nearly 2 months now, have tried various indian food joints. Some were ok some were pretty average. Last night however i went to Baadshah restaurant, its new and is located on 3rd road directly opposite where Exyte used to be.The food was excellent,i advise anyone who likes a good curry to give this place a try.Its a bit more expensive than the cafe style indians which are more common in Pattaya.I had a starter, a madras curry with rice and a garlic naan bread and the bill was 370B. So guys give a go and id love to know if there is a better one.

English style to me are curries made using the ingredients used by the sub continent but varied to fit English tastes. It is well known that most people from "India"(i use " " to indicate those from the indian sub continent)do not eat the very hot curries that the English love,me especially Going back to Neeroys, when i first ate there i loved the flavour, but the texture and colour were nothing like ive ever had before. One ingredient he definately doesnt use and there may be others is Ghee,an essential ingredient if cooking Indian food authentically. But hey this is getting much t

I may be being a little pedantic here but i guess it depends what you call English style. My opinion is English style means, curries that have been developed to suit English tastes, cooked in a more or less authentic style. Neeroys is slightly different, his curries though very tasty are more the consistancy of a thickish gravy and not authentically prepared.Dont get me wrong i have had many curries at Neeroys and never been disappointed. In fact i love them and they indeed excellent value ie a curry with rice app. 160B ish,for quite a large portion.

The very best Indian i have had in Pattaya was on Pattaya new plaza. Afew years since ive been(bloody credit crunch) Defo worth looking to see if its still there. Approach New plaza from 2nd road, take the right hand lane and it was about 30 yrds up.
-
I'll be in Pattaya then, but because im staying 6 mnths over the peak season im staying somewhere cheaper. The damn credit crunch. One other tip,if you like a queiter room away from road noise ask for B wing. Happy hunting.

Haha cheeky little comment. To be straight with the OP,Naklua is well known as a very German orientated area.
