  1. OMFG,not the results i got just an hour ago.Must go back try again.Thanx Tom.
  2. I am looking at flights to BKK for early to middle of Oct.Out of MAN. So i thought hey why not test out the A380,a bit of a waste of time(literally)lol. The only A380 out of manchester is 1415hrs,arrive Dubai 0015 so far great.Unfortunately the first available connection to BKK is 0940hrs==9+1/2 hrs layover. Not for me thank you, guess ill be flying the tonka toys for a while yet.
  3. Thats great news, the distance from key areas was never a problem to me,it was just that last time i saw the place it was just a building site with waste lasnd surrounding it. Are the prices still similar to those advertised on their website?
  4. Thanx for that mate. Haha im not a hiker,i just like the excercise when im in Pats and prefer to walk the side streets etc. Look forward to your report on Maxx. Catch you later.
  5. To be honest no i cant see why UCB isnt in the smaller rooms, its just the site does not specifi. Castleton is much nearer to me than Hayfield, only about 5 or 6 mls.Do you have rellies who live there?I live in between Oldham and Rochdale.
  6. Cicero,do you mean Hayfield in Derbyshire UK? I dont know the place but its only about 20mls from me.
  7. If you go to the site and click on units at the bottom of the page it states UCB available on demand in the larger units. When im in Pattaya i walk 60 miles a week ive walked most routes from Banglamung to south Jomtien. No ive never heard of Hayfiled, where is it and what is it? Ill google it now.
  8. If i decide to stay there and if you do too,ill leave a couple of beers on for you
  9. I agree the location isnt great but if you look at places with better locations, the basic rent for a 37/39 sq mtr room with similar facilities would be nearer 20K. I personally dont mind walking, and 250 mtrs ish is nothing to me,i used to walk from Soi Lengkee to Soi 8 most nights. Cicero could you please ask if the option for UCB satelite TV is available in the studio rooms.Thanx.
  10. I am very flexible but i expect it to be very early Oct. to April
  11. Well at around 10k for basic rent and 1200B for cleaning etc.I personally cant see it totalling 20K.Of course you have to add electric and water, but when you get acclimatised i cant see me using too much during the coolish season. Its great you are going to check it out and i will be interested to get the low down.
  12. Ive just checked it on a google map,and though my estimate was wrong(it must be my long legs )it is within 250 mtrs.
  13. Yes i agree with you,it is possible its in a dodgy area for late at night. The last time i walked past the place it was in construction and there was nothing else around it.I wonder if its any better now? As with everything you have to compromise.Where i normally stay is now more than 20k and post credit crunch i wouldnt like to stretch my budget that far. What im really hoping for is info from someone who has actually stayed there.
  14. To me not very inconvenient, its only about 100 mtrs farther away than where i normally stay on Soi Lengkee. Which makes it les than 200 mtrs from Soi Buakhow, its also similar distance from Pattaya Klang.
  15. I will be staying in Pattaya for app. 6 months starting Sept or early Oct. Thinking of booking Maxx Central, looks like a nice place at a competative price.Has anyone any experience of this place. http://www.maxxcentral.com/index.html Thanx
  16. Yes,after being stranded by the credit crunch,i have found a way on my limited budget to finally move to pattaya. Check out this lovely budget condo. http://www.thaiproperty.com/cgi-bin/db.pl?...gifunction=form Maybe my rithmatic needs a little tuning
  17. I think you have all the good pointers you are going to get, they are all the same. But hey its your money to lose.
  18. Agreed its the one i use, mossies love me but never a problem with this stuff. In the room found that the little bastards were getting access via the shower drain.Covered it when not using, problem solved but still electronic batted every night.
  19. So your staying at the Amari, well i guess we all make mistakes as a newbie.I made exactly the same one.Dont get me wrong its a beautiful hotel.
  20. here look at this website for Eastiny hotels, they have 5 on the 2 sois. http://www.eastinypattaya.com/inn/
  21. I stayed there many years ago,was definately not girl friendly then and absolutely the same now. You would be much better off staying around Soi 7 or 8 on a first visit.Much cheaper than Amari too.
  22. Thats a little better photo,it now looks more like a decent size. Sounds like excellent value and a nice quiet spot,a bit out of the action but ok if you have transport.Otherwise you need to walk up to Pattaya nua to get a baht bus.
  23. Wh,wh,what. When did this extension to an O visa by 1 yr become possible. Its a new one on me,good news if its fact.
  24. I personally cant see that hapening. Expats are really only long term guests, strictly controlled by visas and extensions, also by amount of income. If however there was ever a chance to become a Thia citizen then there may be a language requirment. Cant ever see that happening.
