  1. Well if I get drunk and end up with Ladyboy, I really don't think I could stand the humiliation. I'd probably throw myself off balcony Hey - now we know why all those 'jumpers' do it
  2. Yes, but is the China scene more expensive?? LOS is cheap charlie paradise
  3. lol dude - don't cancel - just be on high alert! If it's 6ft tall and looks like a super model, with amazing bone structure, then it's probably ladyboy If she's shorter, more rounded and drop dead cute, then shag it, as she is a women If you are unlucky enough to have your 'ladyboy detector' fail, just give it 500 baht and it will go away.
  4. Baht has weakened considerably over the last 36 hours, against the £. Now 68.4 Hopefully this is a new trend now becoming established. Would be great to see it back over 70 again. Worth a few extra ST's that is http://www.xe.com/ucc/
  5. Hey guys Yes, I've asked for a 4th floor room, quiet with outside window, thanks to reading this tip when undergoing a search. What I get, we will see!! Great knowing the snooker is free. In u.k., one can pay £5+ an hour for snooker, so play for one hour a day and it pays for nearly 50% of room Thanks very much for the laundry tip. Depending on how much the Sabai Inn charge, I will check them out! CanadianGuy E.mail service from Areca was dreadful and I had a VERY bad feeling about it. I refused to leave deposit, via e.mailing card details or faxing them. They said this is hotel policy. Well they should get a secure online payment system then!! Anyway, over the course of a few e.mails, while identifying him/herself only as a member of staff, but not supplying name, it was suggested I pay the money directly into thier bank account I politely declined However, we have a happy ending here. If you ask very nicely and make yourself appear a serious player, the Sabai Inn will let you book with no deposit, which was the clincher for me. I guess they can do this in the low season Reply's always from the assistant manager. I feel comfortable with my choice and will review after 6 nights OR catch the bus to Bangkok for 4 nights, before heading back to PATTAYA. Once into the swing of things, I may book a few nights in the Queen Victoria on soi6
  6. Just booked my first 6 nights at the Sabai Inn. It feels like a good choice, as it's my first time in Pattaya, so I'm near some beer bars, but not right on top of the mayhem The e.mail responses I received from the Deputy Manager have been prompt and first class, identifying himself everytime. This is in direct contrast to the Areca Lodge, who do not inspire me with confidence. Anyway, I did not want to bother the manager at Sabai again, as he has already answered many questions, so....... Is the laundry service free or fee based? Is there a charge for the snooker table or is it free? Anyone know? Thanks guys
  7. http://www.tonydisco.com/html/gym.php Give it time too load and it says: "Enjoy our facility's for one day, for 99 baht" I'd go Mon, Wed and Fri, with press ups/sit ups, on days off. Only £1.50 a day
  8. I plan on joining a gym while in Pattaya, as I'm now growing addicted with my local fitness centre/plan, four times a week. Re: Tony's Gym. 1. I do not consider myself a beginner, so can I just walk in and have a session OR do they insist on some safety instruction, making sure the customer can cope? 2. What is the drinking water situation in good Pattaya gyms. At my local gym, for the total workout, including 30 mins on bike, 750 calorie burn, I consume about 3.5 litres of water, so make that 4 litres in the hot weather. Do the gym supply chilled water and is it safe too drink?? Thanks
  9. NEXT also have some linen gear, but make sure you visit one of the main stores, as they have all the range in one place. Oral rehydration tablets? Never heard of those!! My plan is too drink 8 litres of good quality bottled water, even if it does cost me a small fortune! In that heat, if you down say 5 pints of lager, I reckon one needs to take in 5 litres of water afterwards! Make sure your hotel fridge is fully stocked up with bottled water, BEFORE you go out drinking. Will be checking out the Deet spray, at the Boots in Pattaya, as well as the usual anti runs tablets etc: Will be cheaper too buy over there. I've had a combined Hepatiitis A & Typhoid Fever jab and am immune too Hepatitis B. I've also had a combined Diphtheria/Tetanus/Polio jab. Had them all in March and am ready too party Was walking around town today and noticed how women always look through me, or around me, NEVER at me. Well I'm bloody well fed up with it!! Not for much longer! I'm on the right side of 35 with baht in my pocket and I require servicing NOW
  10. Hi Bart My first time 26th May and am also concerned about heat. I suggest plenty of 'linen' shorts and shirts. Just bought two pairs of linen shorts from Marks and Spencer today. Much cooler than cotton!
  11. I'm there dude! Women of soi 6 - WATCH OUT - Ben is coming
  12. I agree - worth 200 baht and only pay that if you need a shit hole, for freelancer shagging. How about - buy 6 drinks, get free room?
  13. Baht now weakened over last 24 hours to stand at 67.2, against the £. Could this be the start of a new trend? I'm certainly encouraged it failed to break the 66 resistance.
  14. Thanks Re: Residence Gardens. Did you find it walkable to the beer bars and Go Go's? Where is the nearest 24/7 type store??
  15. Hi I e-mailed the Queen Victoria Inn, asking if the rooms have digital safes. I did this as the website mentions safety deposit boxes only. http://www.queenvictoria-inn.com/rooms.htm The reply was that ALL rooms have in room - digital safes Now I DO believe them, but just incase there has been some confusion over meaning, can anyone confirm the rooms do indeed, boast the digitial safes?? Thanks
  16. I have one question. In the opinion of the board members who have stayed at both hotels, which is the better all round bet, Areca Lodge or Residence Garden? Thanks
  17. I'm flying with Qantas, leaving Heathrow, 26th May, returning 23rd June. Depending on finances, I may stay much longer My conditions are that Qantas charge £50, for each change of return date, for which I must call the Bangkok office.
  18. Now 66.91 Come on you 70's
  19. Baht weakened ever so slightly against the £, now 66.40. Let's keep our collective fingers and toes crossed. It's had a three month bull run, so hopefully it might have peaked and it's all set for a summer slide
  20. Well the trend appears to be against us now. 66.45 baht to the £. For my vacation in June, I'm now assuming 60 baht to the £ and anything better, will be a bonus. Will the bar girls and hotels, lower there charges? I doubt it! I don't want to buy the baht now, as I don't feel comfortable carrying large amounts of cash around. I'd be very happy with an average of 65 baht now. http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert.cgi
  21. Baht weakened to about 67.5 from 67.1, after the election result was clear. Hopefully it's a case of - buy the rumour, sell the fact! Hoping for a decline to 70.0 through April and then further slippage to 75.0, around my arrival date of 27th May Would not like it to go through 67.0, as it would signal a new trend.
  22. Just a thought - what are those rooms actually worth per day? I know the website gives a price of 400baht, which is too much? I agree - they look grim, but for say 150, I might be tempted to slum it! Then again, the bathrooms look dire. I think I'd be embarrased to bring back a lady and I'm no snob! Everything has a price, right? For 100baht a night, why not?
  23. My mummy says............ It's possible to get upgrades for free - say economy to business class - if the business class has not sold out. My mum is urging me to ask at check in. However, I don't want to appear a complete fool! Is this possible, in the right circumstances?
  24. Are there any hayfever problems in Pattaya, as I suffer from this as well. I agree, May, June in U.K. - can be a nightmare - double trouble! I'm surprised, you have no need for an inhaler in Pattaya? What about the humiduty and heat? Does it give you a heavy chest?
  25. Suitcase Many thanks - I learn something new everyday - I'll definately see my doctor about it - I've no real idea how I'll react to the humdity. Eneukman Yes- that's very true - we English tend to grumble about everything. I've just ordered a 4 month, pre payment certificate, for £33. As many perscriptions as I like!
