www.trailfinders.co.uk No online booking - but customer service first class - highly professional - me very happy with the service and I am very picky!

Yeah - I suffer from dry skin - although it's not on perscription, I need my pot of E45 cream handy, as my hands soon crack What about deodrant - maybe a solid stick? Would that be allowed?

Robbed in sabai lodge wing
ben99 replied to vikingprince's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Anyone recomend a good Hotel for my trip inSeptember? Sabai Resort??? Sorry - could not resist That's really bad luck - it's really spooky getting disturbed in the middle of the night, even when it's just a BG, knocking at your door. -
Never entered my head to ask or notice Send them a quick e.mail - usual PC at reception, available to use. Big C, internet cafe, only 2 mins walk away, 1 baht a min. Not bad if only on for 20 mins a day.

Here are some room and pool shots of my time at the excellent Sabai Resort. http://www.flickr.com/photos/67802745@N00/ This is not the older Sabai Lodge in Soi 2 - but a brand new complex, adjacent to the Big C shopping mall. It's in an excellent location - the security is FIRST CLASS - one night this really saved my bacon - the complex is huge, extending backwards a long way. Indeed, the area at the back, will not be open until the New Year. http://www.sabailodge.com/roomrates.htm Scan your eye to the lower half of the page - Sabai Resort prices. I viewed all the room types available and all offer excellent accomodation. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean - one night they even spayed the whole complex with mosquito repellant and huge clouds of white powder, hung in the air, making me choke - the cleaners and staff are very friendly and the guards will often escort you to your door at night. Fantastic reception area. During low season all prices are up for bartering - I stayed at the Paradise Pool - Deluxe Ruen Thai, advertised rate 2850 a night, but I got it for 2000. A guy I made friends with for a week, managed 1850, but that was rock bottom and the reception lady had to seek authorisation from the manager. I do not begrudge paying 2000 baht, as all the staff must be paid for and I regulary observed the paved areas getting swept, during windy days etc: If you have the dosh, stay at the Sabai Resort - if on a budget, choose the 700 a night, low season price at the Sabai Inn -soi 2. In my opinion, you will not regret paying 1300-2000 at Sabai Resort and the girls love it

Stay in soi 2 if your a newbie - baht busses pass every minute - just walk out of hotel and one comes along. A nice 7 mins walk to soi 6. Soi 7/8 only three mins on baht bus - Walking St say 6 mins. Soi 2 peaceful at night - stagger out of Walking st Go Go at 2am with 21 yar old hottie - jump on baht bus - 5 mins max to soi 3 - enter 7/11 for water (bar girl will proceed to grab a basket load of goodies and the bill will somehow be 250 baht ) then a two min walk to Sabai Inn.

Dude - for the low season charge of 700 baht - you can't go wrong at the Sabai Inn. Cleaning service is A1+ - big rooms - nice patio, sitting area outside hotel - Rooms are kept very clean - friendly reception staff. Do NOT use their laundry service as they will mess up the bill and over charge you. Plenty of places on soi 3 for laundry and half the price I'm staying there next time, until I sort out a long term apartment

I checked out the Day/Night hotel - big place but looks old. The hotel is very dirty and the stairway carpet looked like it had not been vacumed for a year - trust me - that is NO exageration. The room I was shown for 600 baht was dire - a joke compared to the low season charge of 750 baht for Sabai Inn - also the many pubs like Tropical Berts etc: The bloke on reception was half asleep and could not be bothered to deal with me. I'd rather stay at Anna Jets than this dump and thats saying something! I would not feel safe in the Day/Night hotel and the place felt lonely, spooky and unsafe. The rooms are probably worth 200 baht. AVOID

£100 each. Thought that about right?

http://www.nationwide.co.uk/travel/travel_money/buy.htm I've just had my fee free, Sterling TC's delivered through Nationwide. The only charge was a £3.50 delivery charge, with delivery next day. What you pay for is what you get. All you need is a Flexi account that can be debited. I phoned up, using the number quoted, as I wanted specific denominations.

Lads - mid price around 71.7/£ as we hit the new working week £ shows no sign of backing off. Should ease nicely past 72.0/£ on Monday. I don't care about the weak dollar, as I'm English and use the mighty £
-
Well can it all wait until I return home. Ta!

TC's are good, if ATM eats card. TC's can be replaced within 24 hours if stolen. So use ATM and fall back on TC's as your last line of defence.

Baht still holding around 70.1/£. Looking good - difference between 66 and 72.6 is a massive 10%. That's 10% more fun or spend 10% less money. It touched 66/£ only a few weeks ago. Would not be surprised to see it slide towards 74/£ over the next two months.

Hi - The recent fire in the nightclub has made me think. Has anyone observed the fire safety standards in the Sabai Inn hotel? What about the emergency exits? Were they locked or unlocked? I'm staying on the 4th floor. Is there a suitable emergency exit? Many thanks

That's quite a cool idea. Keep BG occupied at snooker/pool, while I save the baht for another conquest

Dear Jimmy2006 New Years Eve, LONDON, ENGLAND. London Ambulance Service reported 38 stabbings, in one hour. Visit the bbc website and visit all the regional news sites. The only SAFE place is in your living room. You wanna LIVE - then gotta take a risk

70.1/£ now. http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert.cgi This fall has been quite dramatic. I'm not greedy though and will settle for an average of 70.0 - right through my holiday. It's bound to have a mini rally - but keep cool and it should continue to weaken. Whatever the rate, I won't be withdrawing massive amounts of baht from ATM - as theft of a large amount of cash, would negate the good exchange rate for whole holiday.

I assume that's the price bbk bank sells (to customer) at? Not a bad deal actually. My local Travel Agent (big company) in England, were selling at 64.8 yesterday, with mid price ay 69.1/£. They then have the cheek to proclaim NO COMMISION The baht is a dog currency - worth no better than 75.0/£. Why? Because I say so Pic of me beating up baht. Get down dog, get down....
-
Thanks dude. How many minutes walk to 7-11 shop? Where is nearest Bank/ATM as I don't wanna use shop ATM's (more risky) Ta.
-
Yes, back the right side of 69/£, right now. Wonder what's caused the slide so fast? Who cares Hope it's the start of a tanking to 75/£

Well if I'm caught out back at hotel, I'll pay it, just to get rid of it. My worst nightmare! Imagine being drunk, waking up in the morning and finding a man beside you I'm not homophobic and am happy to be around them in a social situation, as long as I know they are LB's.
