Internet cafe/shop to plug in your own laptop?

Recommended Posts

I'm planning my return trip to Pattaya.

Last time I only found one place where I could plug un my own laptop to dump out my mail, which was on 2nd steet, right level with Boyztown.

This place ran at a speed of 256, which was very slow when shared with about 12 PC's. I reckon that on my walk down there from the Lek Hotel, I asked in about 20 places, and this was the only one who would cater for taking my own PC, which really surprised me after several trips to BKK, where I could get a good speed.

and could basically plug in anywhere.

A

nybody else know of places where it is possible to plug in yr own PC? (not wireless).

Well, the Explorer on Beach road allways allowed me to do so. But not so many internet cafes in pattaya have more then 256 kbit i think. Bangkok is of course a bit different.

I had no problems (and a reasonably fast connection) at the Internet Cafe in the Sunshine Hotel Soi 8.

I bought a prepaid "card" (actually a piece of paper with my name, kept on the premises) that gave me the Minute for 60 Satang.

Open until three or 4 in the morning.

My experience was the opposite of yours. I found that all but one place I tried allowed me to plug in my laptop. A few placed had places reserved for plugging in a laptop (i.e there was a spare ethernet cable sitting waiting to be inserted into a laptop).

My favorite place was on 2nd road just north of the Royal Mall, on the opposite side of the street as the mall and next to a really nice Thai restaurant. It was one baht a minute.

since I'll be staying near Soi 8 this time I may try out the Sunshine hotel mentioned just above.

I have never had any internet shop not let me plu in my own laptop. So ther must be plenty of shops that do. I have used several diffrent one. One of which solved a proble with my connection that several shops in the us had been unable to resolve.

cybers1b,

As far as I know they don't have internet hookup in the rooms. What they have is a internet cafe down stairs.
