Thailand Plus PI (or Bali)

In another thread a couple of guys suggested that I could add on the PI to my trip at no extra charge when redeeming my FF award. Thanks guys!!

 

The way it's done on United/Star Alliance is to make the PI (or Bali for example) your final destination. You're allowed one stopover so you can stop over in BKK for as long as you like, it can be months.

 

So New York to BKK (via Narita) with a stopover, then BKK to Manila (or Bali), then Manila to New York (via BKK and Narita). All for just 60K FF miles. I assume this can be done from Europe also using even less miles.

 

The Star-Aliance website is great. Very fast and easy to find all available options if you play around.
