Stansted - Hethrow

Recommended Posts

The quickest way is to get in a car and drive(m25 permitting) but there are regular busses between LGW, STanstead And LHR so you shouldn't have a problem getting between the two airports within say 21/2 hours?

As for trains- haven't gotta clue.

By train into Liverpool Street station London then underground. Cirle line to Kings Cross and then Piccadilly to Heathrow.

No direct bus service but you could get bus from Stansted to Harlow and then 724 Greenline to Heathrow.

National Express Airports run a direct bus service between Stansted and Heathrow (the old Flightline 797 route). The journey takes approx 90 mins. Details at the National Express website:

Or Kings Cross to Paddington then take the Heathrow Express train, not cheap but it takes under 15 mins. :grin-jump

Depending on the time of day of course you could drive it in just over an hour. I've driven from Longcross Surrey to the Harrods suite in stanstead in about an hour :beer (not reccommended for driving licenses though :grin-jump )

I assume you are flying into Stanstead and then out of Heathrow, as Tom said the National Express coach looks the best bet.

I think it is service JL717 or similar, coaches every 45 mins or so and takes 90-120 mins with 1 stop.

The coach will have a toilet on board.

You could get the train to Liverpool Street, Circle line underground to Paddington then Heathrow Express to Heathrow, This way would not really be quicker and also cost more.

If you are struggling for time a taxi will be quickest and most expensive, I am guessing 1hour/ 50-60 pounds

Tom, est. arival at Stanstead 18.25 and dep. at 21.35 at Heathrow. That is not going to work is it? There is only 60 punds diffrence betwen Express and Icalandair but Icelandair lands at 15.50 at Heatrow, so thats a safe bet at least. Would not want to miss the flight, not for 60 punds.
