Hotels in Bangkok - No guest fee

Recommended Posts

I have stayed at the Asia Bangkok Hotel and the Royal Benja Hotel. Both are OK, but I'm tired of paying the silly guest fee.

Can anyone suggest a nice hotel in a good location that does not charge a joiner fee. Less than 2000 bht/ night would be nice.

I've stayed at the Omni Tower on Soi 4 twice and been very pleased. You can get a studio or one- or two-bedroom apartments. In November 2004, a studio (booked on their website) cost me 1,650 baht a night including breakfast coupons for two people. Studios are spacious (apartments are enormous), include a full refrigerator, microwave oven, cooking utensils, large bathtub, large bed, TV, etc. There's a decent pool, fitness center, sauna, etc. No problem whatsoever with bringing TGs back and no joiner fee.

Thanks for the info.....

Have been looking at staying there for my trip in April myself!

Can you give me any idea how far a walk Omni is from Suk / NEP?

Would you be thinking internet booking direct will get you a better price than just walk up on arrival? Any advice?

One more thing...has anyone ever checked whether this place is on the extensive list of hotels available through the hotel booking counter in Don Muang?

Cheers for any help!

Depending on your stride, it takes just a few minutes to reach NEP from the Omni Tower. It's probably a ten minute hike from the hotel to the Nana Skytrain station. Majestic Suites has a better location, but for just a few hundred more baht, you get a much larger, nicer room (with kitchen) and far more facilities. Remember, Omni Tower is a serviced apartment complex and not just a hotel so it has many long-term residents and the facilities/services they require.

They don't offer a breakfast buffet and I'm not crazy about the limited breakfast choices you're restricted to using their coupons, but Bangkok surely has plenty of other places to eat.

I don't know if it's listed at the airport's hotel booking counter. Another member who lives in Bangkok once posted that he could negotiate cheaper prices in person than their usual rates. I found the rates on the Omni Tower's website to be cheaper than booking with Asia Travel or similar agencies. I hope this information is of some assistance to you.

BTW, welcome to this board.

The Omni Tower looks promising as I'll need to spend a fewdays in Bangkok later in the year though the cost of a studio seems to have increased to not far short of 2,000 baht a night. However, as it'll be the low season when I'll be there might be able to do some negotiating. :P

Alan,

Omni Tower isn't too far from the British Embassy, but I didn't let that fact keep me from staying there. :grin-jump

  • 2 weeks later...

Try a Deluxe room at the Nana Hotel for 1500 Baht, it's very nice. It has 2 sofas, 2 TV's, seperate bedroom , fridge, table for eating and a desk. The bathrooms are nice and clean, the rooms have been recently renovated and there is no joiner fee.

Breakfast buffett is free and good. Most people turn there nose up at this place, but I keep coming back to the Deluxe room, as for the size/price, it can't be beat.

Free courtesy reservation via there website.....

do you want a really great hotlel - with no joiner fee?

You got it!

Swiss Grottino

It's a real hidden gem - good location - super super clean rooms - very large beds - in room safe - great clean new shower and toilets - in fact all you may ever need from a hotel - and the price - 1700 Baht.

I just landed yesterday - so I was there two days ago.

Great hotel - no fancy lobby tho... but who needs a fancy lobby?

For me - it's a keeper.

Maco88.

Having the same problem with Woraburi.

The internet booking form doesn't seem to work.

Sent an email to info@woraburi.com on Sunday night and no answer yet.

Same thing happened last July so had to phone them.

Other than that, I'm satisfied with the hotel.

Good luck.
