Hi,

I have read lot of good reports about Sabai Lodge,

but I found very difficult to choose a room

because Sabai Lodge looks like 4 different hotels !

Sabai Lodge map / Room tariff

Could some of you give advice about which area (pool)

and/or which rooms are the best value ?

Thank's

Just got back from Sabai Lodge. I had the Deluxe cottage room, which open directly onto the small Dolphin Pool. Very nice. I have also stayed in the Ruen Thai Pool rooms, which open onto a larger pool, and are slightly larger. The Deluxe cottage room offers much better value for the money, in my opinion, because they offer almost the same amenities at a lower price. (I paid 1450 Baht). I like being able to go right from my room to the pool.

BTW, the price I paid was lower than the published price on the web site. They quoted it when I made my reservation. So you may want to check with them directly to get the best rate.

I really like Sabai Lodge. Nice rooms, no guest hassles, good staff.

Downside: the Buffet Breakfast is overpriced at 150B. Lek is better at 95B-worth the Baht bus ride. I never tried the restaurant for lunch or dinner.

For some reason, they tend to be stingy with toilet paper. Often no Backup roll. A small tip to the maids will assure you of plenty of TP and extra towels if you want.

Sabai Lodge offers good value, in my opinion. :nod

It might be worth the ride if the quality of the buffet was much better at the Lek, but otherwise, for a little over a buck and a half, it doesn't seem like time well spent. Afterall, 150 baht is about 4 USD if my calculations are correct.

I've been the the Superior A rooms, up on the second floor. I just walked in one day and they gave me a rate of about 850 Baht a night, I think. That was in November. I'd definitely stay there again.

The key is that you don't have to make a reservation. Just walk in, and you will get the best rate. I usually stay in Sabai Inn, on the other side of the street, it is cheaper, 750 per room, and you just cross the street to use the pool. I am never up for breakfast, but I like to eat dinner by the pool of Sabai Lodge, even if I stay at a completely different place.

I've stayed at both Sabai Inn and Sabai Lodge a few times and have stayed in rooms by the main pool, the dolphin pool, and the Ruenthai pool. Overall very good value, and good location.

This is what I have experienced so far (all lower priced rooms):

The rooms by the main pool are a little larger, but are older.

The rooms by the Ruenthai pool are newer (i.e. remodeled).

The rooms by the Dolphin pool are quieter.

The Sabai Inn room w/window, as large as the rooms by the main pool, had tub.

I visited the Sabai Wing on my last trip, but I thought it was a little overpriced (because it was still new). Each room has a balcony and are the newest. The rooms I saw were smaller than than the rooms mentioned at the other 3 areas.

Bottomline, they have a variety to choose from, and if you decide to make reservations or just do a walk in, you can always ask to see the rooms before you make a commitment.

Lastly, decide if you need/want a tub or a shower. Most of the (lowerpriced) rooms I saw at Sabai Lodge had only showers.

Looking forward to the Sabai Resort (currently being built across 2nd road by SabaiRooms) in 06.

Hope this helps...

Cheers...

Is the SabaiRooms your refer to the massage parlor that we all know and love, or is it something else again?

I stayed there at Xmas and it was pretty good value. However I stayed in a refurbished room overlooking the 2nd pool and had a problem locking my door. They did fix it for me mind. Only other problem I had was 2 or 3 times they would knock on my door to deliver food which I hadn't ordered. I prefer Sabai Inn.

The breakfast is the worst in Pattaya.

Hi,

I remember that 5 years ago I as a guest of Sabai Lodge I got a discount coupon for Sabai Dee. Those days Sabai Dee was also on the Sabai Group's homepage, but not so any more. Same big boss owns Sabai Dee, Sabai Inn and Sabai Lodge. Also the nightclub and the restauant where you eat breakfast, but he owns more mostly on Soi 2 and he has bought back Weekender Hotel, oh the small island outside Pattaya I forgot. He's over 70 now so not seen so often any more in the area - he made big money by starting Sabai Room and sold it and later repeated it with Sabai Land.

Hi SoCal, et al,

To answer your question... Yes.

When I was there in Nov, it was being built, behind and next door to Sabai Rooms.

For Breakfast, I either catch a bhatbus (the route is right in front of the hotel, down Soi 2, along beach road and get off at central) and eat at Topps or if later (around 10?) I go across the street to Big C (the restaurant on the far right side; not the fast food places is pretty good for local fare).

Cheers
