My travel agent has offered me accomodations at Asia Pattaya Hotel or the Siam Bayview Hotel.

Does anyone have info on these hotels?

Anything would would be greatly appreciated

My research turned up that Bayview is NOT guest friendly

So, Its a nice hotel, that should'nt be a reason not to stay there.

To the OP.

Asia hotel is very nice, mini golf course, private beach and nice rooms, the down side is its not in walking distance to the main areas of pattaya, but its nice as its away from the main areas of pattaya which in the daytime quite frankly is horrible and dirty.

Siam bayview is also a nice hotel, right in the thick of the action, 2 mins walk from the beach, but quiet enough to relax,

I found it too far out of town - when there is a choice of places nearer the action. Also they charged 500baht guest fee - some years ago. So you need to check if this is a factor with you.

I have stayed at the asia on my first trip to pattaya. It`s a god awful hotel, scummy, shit service, the rooms have pre historic tv`s and decor. yeah the swim up bar is ok, but thats all. stay anywhere else but here...it`s cheap for a reason... and it`s definately NOT guest friendly either.... rubbish rubbish hotel... looks nice in the photo`s but it isnt. asia bkk is ok for the price but not pty. I presume it is the Asia you meant and not the mythical Aisa.

I'll agree with ting_tong about this, why not just use the reviews and ask opinions about hotels in Pattaya, as I'm sure your travel agent hasn't been to Pattaya many times.

If your travel agent can offer you Bayview, then they will also offer you Siam Bayshore, the sister. Bayshore got better pools, if that counts. Bayshore is also closer to (actually at) Walking street. Another thing about Bayview. A huge Condo will be build next door. It will be living hell when it starts I guess. Bayview and Bayshore have the same rates but Bayview have cheaper Sea View rooms. Both hotels are very nice, but not guest friendly, Both in the 2,500 Baht range through Internet.

I've stayed at both.

Do not stay at the Asia. Too far from anything and very old. Although there was a good little cafe over the road.

Bayview is an excellent hotel if you DON'T want to monger. Good location and well maintained. Ocean view rooms are good value.

I booked both thru agents here in Oz before I found this board and got smart. Do yourself a favour and spend some time reading the hotels section.
