In 21 visits to Pattaya I have never been to the island so next time in Pattaya I fancy taking my girlfriend over there for a couple of days

 

If anyone has any information I would appreciate it

I finally went to Koh Larn for the first time on my last trip to LOS, had a great time. It was a nice daytrip getaway. You can hire a speedboat on beachroad and it will cost about 1600 baht and IMHO a waste of Baht. Or you can take the Ferry ride for 20 baht each way which is what we did, 80 baht roundtrip for me and my barfine.

 

Go to the very end of Walking street to the Pier, during the day there are some bahtbuses that go to the Pier. We took the 1300 (1pm) Definitely the 1300 boat to the Island and took the 1800 (6pm) back to Pattaya. On the Island there are some bahtbus type taxis that charged us 30 baht each person eachway to one of the beaches. Forgot the name of the beach we went to, I think "Samae bach" but not sure.

I have seen signs for hotel rooms, but none of the places looked very nice. This place is better suited for a day trip, the ferry takes about 40 minutes and has 7 depature and return times.

I went on a trip to koh larn on thursday and it was a great day left on the 12midday ferry came back on the 5 pm, went to samae beach rode the jet ski for 30mins had some food and drink lay on the beach on a lounger and had fun with friends though i was on my own (no girl)the day cost less than 1200 baht and 700 of that was the jetski so its great and at this time of year quiet and its very cheap so dont delay go and enjoy it I will do it again as i enjoyed it so much

Hey guys any night life on the Island? Beer bars, gogos, discos ect... I may just go there instead of Phuket. I have been told Phuket is very expensive. All info is welcome. Looking for a relaxing plce but someplace where I can still pick up a honey. Thanks easydude.

i think there is a hotel or two on the island but its realy only for a day out on a nice beach with cleanish water i wouldnt think there is much of anything on the island after the sun goes down

I suggest Koh Chang. Unlike Samet, there are beer bars here where you'll have no worries finding company.

 

Personally, I love Koh Chang, and make my way there every trip. It's about 3hrs by bus then 1/2hr by boat from Pattaya - or a 45min flight from Bkk + boat.

 

PM me if you want links etc. A mate of mine runs a beer bar on the island, and usually has a good selection of b/g's to entertain you.

 

Plenty of accom in all price ranges - and heaps to do as well.

Looks like the 10 am ferry will be the one. My Thai friend would not realise 7.00 am existed, in fact she probably knows nothing about 10 am either.

Not to worry there is one at 1300 (1pm) also. some of the bahtbuses go down Walking street during the day so if you can, try to take bahtbus. Walking street is a long long walk.

I got the ferry at noon aswell, but I think there is 1 at 11am that lands on the other side of the island, it is more expensive but includes a trip on a glass bottomed boat to a reef or something from what I could make out.

Yes I am almost positive, even if I had a few beers in me. I was at Joy bar at 1200 waiting for my buddy Vicvegas who was thinking about joining us but was very sick. We waited about 20 minutes and then started heading down to the pier. I remember Songkran was supposed to start at 1300 (1pm) so we wanted to head to the pier before the water started (we still got a little wet). By the time we got to the Pier after that long walk down Walking street, it was about 1250pm and we waited on the boat a few minutes before it left.

 

Next time I am going to try for the 1200 ferry ride, if I can get my fat ass out of bed. Also next time I am going to charter a bahtbus to the Pier, it is a long long walk down Walking street, especially during the day when cars and motorbikes are driving on Walking street.

You are correct, it should of been 1pm because we left Joy bar at about 1220 and it took about 30 minutes to get to the Pier. Refer to part 10 of my LOS-TR. I'm a dice dealer, anything over 12 we have trouble with. See what happens when i post sober?

if anyone is interested in another cheap charlie trip to koh larn then I am going over on monday12th at 12noon and coming back on the 5pm ferry if any one is interested come along on your own or with the beautiful girl of the moment its only 20baht each way for the ferry and 30baht each way for the baht bus that takes you to the beaches on the other side of the island and you can lie uner the parasols on a sunbed get a massage or eat at the reasturaunts on the beach or for the more enegetic there is swimming in the CLEAN sea or jetskis for the very adventurous a great day out and at no money to speak of.

I will be at the ferry terminal tiket office around 1145am i can be recognised as the biggest man there(unfortunatly i dont mean the tallest)but i am incredibly good looking as the girls here all say so and we all know these girls wouldnt lioe to us would they?

I think you were correct with your original post, I'll try to remember to check on the times on my next trip in about 3 weeks. I wouldn't want you to show up at the wrong time the next time you go.

Enjoy your trip and if you don't hook up with another boardmember grab a couple of TG's from your nearby watering hole just down the soi from the Lek to keep you company. I had to go back and edit the end of that last phrase as I had inadvertenly mentioned the name of the watering hole. I didn't want the self appointed board police to come down on me.
