pattaya from 5 june to 8 june

hey guys, i will be in pattaya for the 8th time (in 8 months) on 5 june.

 

i heard from my TG that pattaya is very busy at the moment, all the bars are doing good business. is that true? i understand this is off peak season, so i'm not sure why this is happening.

 

i dont intend to prebook a hotel, just gonna get a room when the taxi drops me off.

I just returned from trip 25 or so and Pattaya is far from busy, it's easy to find rooms in hotels and the prices are low, some bars in new areas as Drinking Street don't have any customers at all.

you can get out of the taxi with bags in hand and bargin for a room right off the bat. be sure you have back up hotels to go to. the hotel section of this board is the best on the web.

You have the US military in town for the Cobra Gold exercise.

What the US military armed with their 7 eleven bottles of water going into bars and not buying a drink!!!!Long gone are the days of the 'dream' of the US military arriving on R&R or Excercise.From the nineties and on into the new millenium the Thai Phu-ying's have learn't that the US servicemen have short arms and even deeper pockets!I'm not generalising of course but just ask them Teelak's down Pattayaland 1&2.

i remember one of my trips last year where there was a military exercise happening, not sure where they were from, but they had their bottles of water from 7-11 and went into the bars just for a look.
