Never used them myself but got a mate who’s used them about 4 times now in the past 18 months. Absolutely loves them, especially if you get the good connections and only have to wait about 2 hrs at Abu Dhabi if it’s the long wait they supply transport and accommodation in a hotel near the airport so you can cat a shower and a sleep. They constantly come out as one of the cheapest on the net search engines and seem to building quite a reputation. Though I do think you could have got a better price if you hadn’t booked so early and maybe waited for a few special offers to be released!

This is going to be the 2nd time I fly to LOS with Etihad.

It's just been over a year since they started operating from the UK.

They're in direct competition with Emirates, but in my opinion many years behind at the moment.

Their ground and inflight service is excellent, on my return from BKK I was about 7 kg overweight in my luggage allowance (you see all these beautiful things in LOS you want them all :chogdee2 :D ) no questions asked, a guy in front of me had his hand luggage, laptop and a couple of other items no problems for him to carry on board (Some airlines only allow 1 item and have a strict weight limit on it).

Economy In-flight food on any airline in my opinion is not worth writing home about. The attendants weren't shy with the dishing out of alcoholic beverages, drink as much as you want within moderation.

Connection times were excellent in October approx 90 mins each way, though they have changed for Heathrow departures. Gatwick departures stay the same 90 mins approx each way.

Only downside is Abu Dhabi Airport. worst restrooms I've encountered anywhere.

I haved flown Etihad and would definately fly with them again via Abu Dhabi.....it was a 1 1/2 hour stop over both ways.......just enough time to get off stretch your legs and back on again....

Go for it........they fly from LHR or LGW....

You can even go from LGW and come back into LHR.....if you want certain times..........Also we was upgraded from cattle to first on the way out to BKK from Abu Dhabi.

Hope this helps
