I have just booked a couple of weeks stay in LOS. I arrive on Thursday early evening and plan a night out around Nana, before moving on to Pattaya the next day.

How easy is it to find a room at this time of the year (walk up)? I have e mailed the Nana hotel but as yet no reply.

You might get jammed up because your close to the weekend where many hotels can be booked out. Check out www.majesticsuites.com Hotel is around the corner from Nana, girl friendly, in room safe. I've stayed there many times. Great place to stay.

many times you wil find that places like nana majestic are booked. I tried walkup one saturday night at around 5 p.m. I had a car so I worked my way down nana soi. nana was full, sme for majestic, dynasty, worburi, etc. etc. finally at the end of the soi nana tha mansions had rooms but not cheap. 1200 baht and the rooms though big were pretty seedy.

st to book in advance you will get a better rate and are more likely ot gte the hotal you want. :eyecrazy

If you go to www.accomline.com enter your date click on thailand bangkok, then sukkumvit it will tell you which hotels are available and how many rooms are still for hire.

I use them a lot as you earn loyalty dollars with each stay.

The best bets in the Nana area are the following (at least IMO)

As alread mentioned: Majestic Suites

Down Soi 4 about 5 minutes walk from Nana: The Omni Tower (mail them for latest rates, they are fast with replies)

another few meters down Soi 4 from Omni is the Woraburi which is small but nice IMO: Woraburi Inn

cheers

I have just booked a room at the Grottino (www.grottino.com) - one stop away from Nana on the Skytrain or a few minutes walk from soi cowboy. Stayed last year - rooms are very nice and there is a separate (secure) street entrance which gives direct access to the rooms without going through the restaurant/lobby. THB 1700 nett.

I got a room in the Royal Asia a few years ago in November as a walk in. It is at the end of Soi 8 and a decent hotel. Free Tuk Tuk up and down to Sukhumvit. B)

Thanks for all the advice and help.

Nana Hotel never replied. However, Majestic Suites did and I booked my room through the pages of this web site.

Sixteen hours and wheels up from Elmdon.

As a foot note to this thread, everything went very smoothly with the Majestic Suites booking. Like others have reported the hotel is very good, well located and sorted me with an excellent taxi service to Pattaya. Thirteen hundred baht, tolls included and knew where the Res' Gardens was situated.

I did over pay on the taxi from the airport to the Majestic Suites, but I'll keep that price to myself, don't want to louse up BigD's weekend.

Thanks once again for the advice and help.
