Arriving Pattaya in November for a stay of 4 weeks and am seeking accomodation.I have read on various boards about the proliferation of building both on this Soi and the surrounding areas,so I seek your advice on same for a months stay.

My requirements are pretty straight forward and are as follows.

Between 8000-10000 BHT for a monthly stay.

A/C,TV,Guest friendly,Good bed and good security.

If any of you could be of assistance I would be grateful for advice,E-mail/Web-site etc.

LK Metropole

Just had e-mail from them today Sat they quoted me 48,000 baht for a months stay in a one bed apt from 10/10/05 to 10/11/05

Way to expensive looks a nice place but for that I can get a lot more for my money.

I have seen posts somewhere on here quoting around 30,000 but I asked for best price and told them I had a friend staying long term with them but they still quoted 48,000 for the month.

If anybody knows how to get this down I would appreciate their help as I like the look and location of this place.

Robo,

I'm staying at the Metropole on the six month rate for the 1 bedroom suite at a bit under 26,000b plus utilities.(27,000) on their price list.

The price list does in fact quote 48,000b + utilities for 1 month, 33,000 for 2 months and 30,000 for 3/6 months.

I'll ask them the question about a 1 month stay for a friend and let you know.

Probably tomorrow, when there's a manager around.

First, to get to the original question, send a PM to ONMYWAY and ask him if any of those places in the area fit your budget. Most of them do now, however alot raise their rates during the time you want to be there. Your best bet might be to stay in one that has yet to open, but will soon.

Back to the LK Metrople question, While the monthly rates are at least half of what the daily rates are, the 2 month rates are another 1/3 off the monthly rates with smaller discouts for the 3-6 month rates and the over 6 month rates. If you want to stay there you could ask about lower priced rooms.

Thank's Richard.

They never mentioned electric / water extra just quoted 48,000 I tried to blag them by saying I hade a mate there long term. But still quoted 48,000

I sent another e-mail today saying my mate paid a lot less and that their quote was over my budget.

I will be in Pattaya again for six months and if place is OK I may stay there for six months but I would prefer one month there while I look for a house to rent.

I would appreciate any info you can get for me.

I would be with my long term GF

Regards

Robo

Steveoman,

Sorry to see your thread so "hi-jacked". I'll give your original question a go regarding a room for 8-10K a month on Soi LK Metro.

There are tons of new rooms being built all over the area. Getting one NOW is no problem at 8000-10,000 baht. BUT, you are coming in high season and most of them are upping there rates because of demand. EXAMPLE: Metro Apartments is on Soi LK Metro and the rate is 8,000 baht a month there. I was told that beginning September 15th the rate goes to 12,000 baht a month but they were sold out all through January! I'm expecting this to be the case everywhere in this area. I too am living on Soi LK Metro. Im paying 8,000 a month and I've reserved it through January.

I'm in the Cock and Bull Apartments and i believe they do will have a room avail. for the period you are talking about. I don't have their contct info with me but do a search on Cock and Bull and I've done a review on it with pics in the members board.

Let me know if I can answer any more sepcific questions.

Cheers,

Mark

Jack,

Only the LK Metropole has a pool in that area, if you stay at the hotel adjacent to it, towards 2nd Rd, you can use the pool and fitness center of the Metropole. This place has larger rooms than the other places in that area however it costs more baht. There is a pool around the corner on Soi Honey that you could use, don't know its cost though.

I stayed at a great place on LK Metro last March called The Thai Archer. It is directly across from Lolitas. One of the nicest rooms I have had in Patters. The beds are big and soft, in room safe, free internet wireless connection for laptops, good lighting, good storage but they do not have night security. The price was 12,000 /month.
