Been to Pattaya many times, but after much review, I think I'm going to try the Sabai Inn this time. I like that part of town bette, seems reasonably priced and many good recommendations.

My only concern is about the beds. Somebody reported they were rock hard. This is a definate deal breaker! Can anyone in the know comment on this? And if I'm not interested in swimming is the Sabai Lodge worth the extra money?

Thanks, meatjoy

I also dislike a rock hard bed but didn`t have any trouble sleeping so it couldn`t have been that hard.

They are bigger than a king size bed.

Get a room on the seaward side.

Cheers

I read what the "Fonz" said but I stayed in the new wing and found the beds to be too hard for my liking. Maybe the beds were different in the new wing but I can't be sure. I saw thin(2 1/2inch) foam mattresses(w/piss stains) in the housekeepers supply room(not office) and asked to use one. No problem once they understood the problem. It was single bed size but it helped until I was able to get a room elsewhere.

Rooms excellent value, good location

reasonably clean (building inside very clean but my room could do with the ceiling repainted but that coul dbe the aircon doing it)

very friendly staff 2 cutie receptionists

free pool and snooker tables

free tea and BUN in afternoon

big bed (2 singles together) not too soft not to hard (roof garden take note)

cons

only walk of shame past girls in Soi 2 bars, no nearby 7-11 (lazy me has to walk the whole lenght of the soi to a foodmart)

internet access in hotel madly expensive 75 B of 30 mins

75 B gets you 2 hours at Tops for christ sake

I stayed in the Sabai Inn earlier this year, the room was big and the bed was big also and not hard. I would advise you to get a room that faces out ward, because lots of the rooms face inward and have a window over looking the hall way, so you have to keep the curtains closed all the time and it is very dark. The staff in the hotel were very nice, but it was a very noisey place in the early hours of the morning when I was there. The hotel is in a good location, many bars near by and Big C shopping center and you are on the baht bus route. A better hotel is the Sabai Lodge which is almost opposite the Sabai Inn but a little bit more expensive but worth the money in my book. :) :) :)
